Leshiy classic Help

Scouty how do you like the Rustem secondary tank? I’ve tried everything but the drozd always leaks.

Im also curious about shot count. How many shots in what caliber?

Thank you 🙏

Shortly after I bought it I developed an inner ear disorder that leaves me sort of constantly dizzy which has really affected my shooting. So I don't shoot much anymore and have basically given up hunting.

But I have maybe put a tin through with it and I have likes and dislikes.

Obviously the shot count is way up there. But the way I use it is I fill it before hiking and then plink out in the woods until I run out of pellets or get dizzy to the point I'm frustrated and give up. I never run out of air first. And then I usually fill it before heading out the next time so I don't have a shot count for you. That would be an interesting experiment this winter.

It has never leaked. Installed by another member and it never leaked for him and I just checked and it still has air.

I do like that it drops the butt pad. A Classic Leshiy with the Carm extension or this air tube fits me much better than the stock configuration.

Dislikes.

It does not close completely with the Carm pellet dispensers on the lower picatinny rail. And I do like those Carm dispensers for use out in the field.

It does not play nice with my bipod but I do think there is a riser and/or extension combo that would resolve this. I just haven't made it a priority.

When I use a Leshiy in the field I like to fold it open and hold the folded gun in my left hand while loading another pellet. Somehow that extra air tube just seems in the way and I never did get used to it.

It is heavier but still a light, compact carbine overall.

Ideally I would find someone to 3D print some sort of carrier that would position it similar to Leshiy 2 stock with a short section of hose connecting the two. The space in between should work fine for my left hand and also clear the Carm dispenser. Not sure about a bipod. But at that point I think I'd rather just invest in a buddy bottle and skip the extra tube altogether.

What caliber and power level are you considering using this for?

Check Rustem Edgun on messenger. English to Russian translation is a little tricky. With any of these Russian companies what I suggest you do is you go into Google translate, English to Russian, say whatever you need to say in English, have it translate it to Russian, cut and paste the Russian message, send it that way. They’re way way way quicker to respond when you go about it in that manner.

Scouty,

Thank you for your extremely informative assessment regarding the pro's and con's of the external tank.

I'm currently running a .25 and looking for somewhere in the low 30's shot count. I don't know if I'm dreaming expecting that possibility, but I figure with a tank and a Huma reg it's worth a shot. Regardless though I absolutely love this little thing. I got an L2 about a month after I picked up this classic and thought the L2 would be the go to for sure but it's definitely the classic. I also put an STO mono core LDC insert with an eagle vision adapter for a huggett magna for extra hush to the point where I almost just hear a click and wind resistance. Have a little huma pellet dispenser on the way, Vortex 1-8 currently mounted. Trying to keep it short and sweeet without changing too much of its profile. Maybe a Steve Brown grip too(one in the mail on its way for the L2 currently;).

Anyway I hope your ear thing gets sorted out. That can't be fun. Your expertise is much appreciated sir.

Cheers,

JW

JW,

If you are looking for a shot count in the 30s have you considered a .22 cal 350mm barrel? With the Huma reg set at 107 bar, HS adjusted for 800fps, I get 34 regulated shots from 260-95 bar. I also run a STO insert and the 22 Hades at 800fps is VERY quiet out of the 350mm barrel. If this is enough energy for your needs another option to consider.

I love my Leshiy Classic!

Scouty,

I'm currently running a .25 and looking for somewhere in the low 30's shot count.

It sounds like you are running the 250mm barrel if you're using the Eagle Vision adapter.

I went ahead and put my 25/250mm barrel in the Leshiy with the Rustem air tube extension and did a quick HST adjustment to about 95% of the first velocity peak.

I then filled again to just shy of 240 bar. I rarely fill past 240 bar for the sake of the o-rings and my tank only had that much air today. Gauge on tank and gauge on Leshiy were in agreement.

The standard Huma regulator is installed but previous owner wasn't sure what the pressure was set to be he thought 95 bar. I haven't taken it apart to check.

I ran a quick string.

I was shooting the JSB 25.39 grain pellets at around 705 FPS or 28 FPE.

I got 41 shots before I seemed to go off the regulator just below 100 bar.

I did take an additional four shots at what I believe was off the reg. No spike, suggesting insufficient hammer strike for the regulator pressure but those four shots were around 2.8% below the first velocity peak so I stopped shooting.

If you need more power understand that a few people have said that the Huma regulator seems to be most efficient at around 110 bar. Not necessarily efficient in terms of shot count but rather the amount of bar per shot relative to the power produced.

So not knowing your power or pellet weight requirements I do think 30 shots might be possible. If you're willing to use the longer barrel that will help even more.
