Tuning Leshiy classic .177 tune

I have 2 leshiy classic in .177. Both have huma 12 fpe reg install. My first leshiy with 250 cm barrel, I set the reg at 65 bar (with derlin insert) and using jsb 8,4gn, I get speed 666 fps avg (8,2 fpe) and 80 shot from 220 bar to 60 bar fill. 

My second leshiy I set the reg at 90 bar ( also with derlin insert) but with 350 cm barrel. I get 800 fps avg (12 fpe) with jsb 8,4gn. I get 50 shot from 220 bar to 80 bar fill.

I use aimpint red dot sight for 250 cm leshiy for close range (up to 30m) perfect gun shooting red, and I use leupold 1-5×20 for 350 cm one.

I have a lot of airguns, but I love these leshiy classic very much because of their light wight. Both under 2kg.

Note: with my 350cm leshiy, if I change the barrel into 250 cm without changing the setting, I get around 10 fpe with the same shot count.

650fps with 8gr pellets is about the lowest I would go. Maybe 700 for out to 35 yards. I've dropped quirrel at 25 with no issues using 8gr wadcutters and 650fps

My old hunting rifle when I was younger was only 600fps and would get the job done, but it was slightly under-powered for a .177 IMO

I have a leshiy 2 coming in .22, so I’ve decided to drop my leshiy classic to a .177 for backyard pesting, snd maybe some indoor barn work. What kind of speeds would I look at in .177 to be effective to 35yds on chipmunks and the like. Maybe the occasional squirrel if it happens upon me while using it. I currently have the sub 12 reg in it, with the 350 .22 barrel shooting cphp and hades around 800fps. It’s deadly accurate out to 50yds right now. Also very quiet considering. I’d like to use the 250 .177 barrel I have. Any recommendations will be welcome. .177 is a new world for me. I’ve never owned anything this size, so pellet choices would also be welcome

For up to 35 yards I would try 177 Polymags. I have shot them up to 950 FPS and even with a lower scope height my PBR extended past 35 yards slightly.

I did this with the standard Huma reg but don't recall the reg pressure, unfortunately. I have a sub 12 reg but haven't used it much with my 177 barrels.

My experiments with 177 were short lived. It always seemed louder at any give power level as well as less efficient. And after clarifying our state airgun hunting law with a local F&G Officer decided to move to 22 for hunting.

But curious to hear your results as I still plan to set up one in 177 for my son.
