Leftys - Lefties Roll Call

Southpaw all the way.

I can shoot a handgun with both because I had to qualify with both hands as a range officer when I worked, but no way can I shoot a rifle right handed.

I have gravitated to left hand rifles the past couple years as I decided to stop settling for what I could afford and get what I want. Currently in left hand I have a Crosman 2260, Daystate Regal XL, and HW100BP-K, and I've been eyeing a left hand .25 Daystate Wolverine HP. (I just need the courage to order it and take my comeuppance from the wife)

I even gave up watching golf on TV because watching a right hand golfer swing, gave me a crick in my back. So unnatural those righties.

Left handed, left eye dominant, shoot left handed.

Recently traded one of my lefty TX200 MK1 for a HW 100. It's in a ambi stock, rh action, but it is intended for FT, so that will be just fine.

FWIW, was a professional musician for years(electric bass) and played right handed. I bat and golf right handed, throw a frisbee right handed as well, but kick a football with the left

one, and of course throw anything but a frisbee with the left.

I am left handed & left eye dominate. I also am getting ready to sell several LH rifles. I have two TX200 in walnut field target stocks and a LH FWB 601. I have not advertised yet as I am busy and need to find boxes, etc. so I am ready to ship when I put them up for sale. If you are interested shoot me a PM with your email address and I can send pictures. The FWB 601 will be $675 + shipping. I am still thinking about the TX200’s as each of the stocks were $950/ea, etc. Both of the TX200 stock were were built by Joe Corkoran (sp?) of Woods & Water and the design was a collaboration between Joe, myself, and another FT shooter.

Wow!

This is great, I had no idea there were so many in this group.

I wonder if we should ask for a section here. "Lefty's Corner" or something?

This really makes me wonder why more guns aren't ambidextrous. Red Wolf and many Daystates are ambi but no love from FX and Frederick is one of us! Why did it take Saber Tactical to come up with a left cocking arm for the impact? Makes no sense. Air Arms is the same way. At least HW springers have an ambi loading port and even the right handed stocks don't have a sharp comb on the other side. I have a Daystate MK4 that is beautiful and shoots so well I am trying to shoot it right handed. Not going great so far as I am very left eye dominant.

As a lefty it always seems like anything I want to buy costs extra and I get less when selling.

Left handed and left eye dominant. I have had an almost imperceptible lazy right eye since I was a wee lad. On the rare occasion that I swing a bat or club, I do it right handed because my dad refused to teach me how to do it left handed. We make up about ten percent of the general population, but we make up a higher percentage amongst the artists, geniuses, mathematically gifted, and the criminal element, but only the part of the criminal element that requires intelligence. Around three quarters of the Apollo astronauts were left handers. As for shooting air rifles, very few of mine give me any trouble. The FX rifles are my favorite, and the right side cocking levers actually work out quite well for me.

YOU SEEING THIS?

Those are just the brands I passed on because they didn't have dedicated left hand rifles

Oh they may be seeing it but those of us who have bypassed these brands are considered acceptable losses. A separate production run wouldn’t be cost justified - so say the bean counters. Uj

Okay, here we go...I'm a natural southpaw, but could use power tools, etc in the Ford plants with either hand equally. I pretty much had to, depending on the job and which side of the line I was on. Or when working on the cars and needing to use both hands to get something removed. And at this point, my left eye is dominant, and getting better while wearing trifocals all this time. I have Bell's Palsy in the right side of my face since 9/19/16 and it messed up the depth perception in my right eye. With left & right hand holsters, drawing & shooting both pistols at once will be interesting. Since I retired March '07, it's been awhile since the daily ambidextrous routine. I think I need it though, with things getting the way they are. Could come in handy when I buy the two Uberti SAA's from Taylor in black powder .45lc cartridge. and boy, are semi-automatic rifles fun! Dang, those ejected cartridges are hot on the forearms with short sleeves. Or in the face! Now those I'd love to have in the left handed versions!
