Led Sled or Springer Shooting stand?

For times where I want to (mostly) take the 'shooter' out of the equation for accuracy testing, I like the Caldwell Stinger rest better than their Lead Sled.

If your gun(s) have a front lower pic rail, then a bipod (doesn't have to be anything expensive) at the front and a bag at the rear works great, for target work or just chrony work.

Double bean bag set up, as suggested above, will work too. However I find my rifle to be less stable in the upright (shooting), or even laying on its side position when I am not holding it (like when I am filling the next magazine). So I rarely use that set up.

I tried a few, the one I kept and thought was the most sturdy and well made pretty heavy and holds tight:

I have a bipod and mono pod set up that werqs great.. Mono pod was put together form internet parts and has an adjustable ball, scroll down on the link, for fine tuning the height adjustment. This set up lets me shoot all those .5 inch groups at 100 yards. I did this a year or so back and it is still werqing perfectly.

I have a Caldwell Deadshot Field Pod Max (for some reason has been discontinued) and really like it. I use it when I shoot my Excalibur 330 crossbow, but when my two new springers arrive (an Air Arms TX200 and a Diana 460 Magnum), I'm gonna try them on it.

I know the Caldwell Deadshot is no longer available because I went to Amazon to get you a link to it. But amazon sells something very similar - a BOG FieldPod Adjustable Ambidextrous Outdoor Range and Hunting rest. I did find a Caldwell on eBay, though.

I recommend a 15 inch Bullsbag. These are the most stable of all I've tried and I have tried them all. Be surt to buy it filled because you'll never be able to fill it like the factory does and get the maximum rigitity from it. I't worth the exra shipping cost, believe me. They are on sale right now.

Well,I have a block of wood I found, 8"x 8"x 12" with a 3"arc cut in the top. I lay 1 or two lead shot bags that I filled with sand-box sand on it and I use a Caldwell rabbit eared rear rest. For my chrony I use a cheap camera tri-pod stand with adjustable legs. My table is a stainless steel kitchen food prep table from cosco. It's quite sturdy and stable and I can leave it outside in the weather and not worry about it.
