Leaky Dreamlite Compact

so Fed Ex just dropped off my new FX Dreamlite Compact. I was eager to shoot it so I went to fill her up but hissing came out the first 2 screws, any idea what it could be? Any fixes? Any help will be appreciated.

sorry to hear that, I know how it feels, especially after waiting so long and such a nice gun.

I think its the valve not closing, and the air escapes threw the barrel, right?

If so, try dry fire a few shots WITH AIR in the tube so you can see the gauge for the reg show what is suppose to show, otherwise you can destroy the valvepin..

maybe some dust that will blow away if lucky

As airgun14 said, sometimes you just need to dry fire it and make sure it is cocked when you fill it.

I recently removed the Huma power plenum from my Dream Pup and back to the Amp regulator with the FX power plenum. The Huma's regulator fps consistency was outstanding but I lost shot count per fill because it took up too much cylinder space for me. My Dreamline has a serial number pre 194000 so it has the short valve pin. When I went to remove the air cylinder the valve pin holder fell out. This might be why the new valve pin is longer with a better retention holder. Anyway after replacing the valve holder I went to fill the rifle and it had a slow. I took off the air cylinder inspected the valve pin assembly and replaced and I had a fast leak. Took the air cylinder back off and the top of the valve pin had been pushed up into the valve holder. I tapped it down, inspected it and replace it again but this time I filled the rifle standing upright on it butt pad and it filled with no leak and it is still holding air this morning. Of course there was a little drop after the initial filling because of the hotter fill but after cooling it stayed there. I surmise when filling the rifle from empty you want the air rushing in to push down on a well seated valve pin seal. I think I saw someone else mention this but it worked for my. The valve pin assembly is simple enough too work on and I followed the 910 Airgun Tuning video on YouTube and had some forceps on hand that I modified to pull and inspect the valve seat. I also found that the taper on a Bic Pen point is the perfect size to use to seat the valve seat. If you have not sent your rifle back try filling the rifle in the upright position after making sure valve pin assembly is installed correctly. I will link the 910 Youtube video. Bill

Luis,

Damn, sorry to hear that your new rifle showed up leaking..
I received 2 brand new FX rifles last week [Impact MK ii and Dream Tac Compact]
and unfortunately, I'm also experiencing issues with both of them..

After 2 weeks of messing with them.. I/we think that it has to do with the gauges..
In my case, they might just be over-tightened:
Causing the Impact reg-gauge not to work [no needle movement]
and the Dream Tac Compact to be leaking as well as a similar non-functioning reg-gauge..

I've been in contact with 1 out of 2 vendors as well as FX-USA, and they've been great!

Any progress with yours?

It would be nice to have a single thread that compiles some of the issues that we're experiencing
and what we've had to do in order to fix things..

Hoping to get my guns fixed and shootable as soon as I can.
And hope the same for you!

😊👍

Sam -
