Well went out to some nut trees in late afternoon and was glassing for squirrels from a distance away very challenging with all leaves to spot them , Got 5 today 1 from limit
Today I used Taipan Veteran STD set at 34 FPE , I shot sorted 18.2 grains . I used a 34mm PM - scope on 6x , and I would say range was 70 Yards with say a 12 Degree angle +
I sighted my gun at 50 yard zero, so with the wind was .5 mil hold and my elevation hold was around .9 mils , I always go for head shots . What I did find different tonight is I had opportunity to try a set of Ziess Victory SF 8x42 , It was amazing the detail compared to my glass , I had spotted over 30 squirrels I never would of seen with my bare eyes or found threw scope . When I tend to hunt with my optics I use for maybe a minute here and there , the difference these are a pleasure and on 8x I see better then 20x on a other spotter which isn't this type of glass , This Fluoride glass is amazing don't know if it worth the $2500 price tag but it is amazing .
