Last night pig hunt...

Maybe he should have used a 22 GAMO Breakbarrel instead? Yo!

You are right indeed he showed 148 pund . Sorry for my mistake but it does not change the case I make . The Marauder presentation is an other example of what real hunters will not attempt to do. There may be a lucky shot here and there precisely hitting a minimum size weak spot resulting in a full hit into the brain but believe me that 99% of these attempts result in a badly wounded animal rushing off .. (;or at you..) . Marauder or anyone else will not present footage of this I am afraid..

There's a guy named Manny P who uses a 22 PCP for hog hunting regularly. Don't let him hear what you said. Yo!

I will do whatever makes me feel happy as you suggest but for sure that is not shooting 270 pound hogs with a .25 pellet in the head . I am happy that you are done with this post. Please do not show up again with these animal abuse stories !

OMG! yalel,

maybe you should read and look at the pictures before you start bashing on me. Like YO said it was 148.5 not 270 pounds. I gotta ask if you work for PETA but because you’re surely upset about my post. BTW this is a forum for everyone who enjoys Airguns and hunting with Airguns. Don’t be a snowflake because of my hunts, if I know I wouldn’t be able to put the boar down ethically I wouldn’t take the shot. FYI I will post future hunts with my Airguns, it’s what I have gotten into Airguns for...

I do not know what PETA is ( will look it up ) and you should do whatever you do as I can obviously not change your mindset on this subject. All fine and good but I know that I know very well what I speak or write about in this respect and just want to try keeping people from shooting pellets in a hogs head . I love to eat wild hog and ethical hunting is a big passion of me. I just hope that my postings on this subject find some people accepting what I want to say about this matter. If you want I reccomend you to take the skinnof a hogs skull and examine how this is exactly constructed. The entrance into the brain area from upfront especially if not approached in an angle from above is exremely difficult to hit not even considering the non stop movement of a wild hog in practice. Anyhow. i made my point and before YO runs amok again I will leave this topic for now.

have a good day and happy hunting (on the right stuff) with your beautiful Cricket ( I had one and loved it)

Whoa there, why in the world would your try and shame us when you obviously don't know what your talking about. I have personally killed 26 hogs up to 250 lbs at 100+ yards with a .25 cal and .257 cal airgun. If it bothers you then just keep your trap shut and move on because you are oblivious. I'm confused, your on a hunting forum, what did you expect to read here? Please, do us all a favor and stick to the benchrest forum. Your not welcomed here.

Here’s the skull of the boar...some member have been saying that the pigs head is too thick for a .25 pellet to penetrate and it’s unethical and not humane. But like I said before with knowing your airgun (accuracy, FPE, shot placement, etc.) taking down evasive species that’s destroying our islands ecosystem is what we must do for our island’s future. Now I’m not saying to just shoot and hope for the best, I make sure I can make smoke meat or kalua.

Aloha, Keone

Beautiful skull and nice picture . Perfect shot placement for a brainshot !

I would love to shoot such hogs legally that are pesting the area . Just take them down humanely and have fun ! ( and a good meal)

i think we understand each other well in the end ....

Just wait long enough and you laws will definitely change. It is all about placement as you know. I started using air when one night I shot a big pig in the head with my .308 and the bullet ricochet off for what sounded like a mile. I decided right there and then I didn't need all that power. My rancher told me to use a .22lr and shoot them between the eyes. All but guaranteed anything I shot would be dead. He has a can on his .22 and I swear you can't hear it 10 yards away. That's when I decide air was the way to go, no waiting a year in can purgatory. Pigs are my favorite game to hunt now.

Sorry but hard to believe that a single .25 shot at the front ofmthe skull took this big boy down. If you would have told me a 20 yard ahot just below the ear in the spine I would have congratulated you with your precision but in this case ...... would like to,have been there to see the whole story of the kill.....

Next to this comment I would nobdoy in the world recommend to copy this shot in this size of animals with a .25 caliber !!! Not ethical and stupid. I would even like to ask the moderators of this forum to step in and block this kind of unethical shot postings .

Ok before you start trying to post about blocking this type of posting. Do you have any experience with hinting wild boars, I have taken several boats with this type of shots, with more than 75fpe the penetration is more than enough. I have the skulls and videos to prove it. Maybe you should do your homework before making accusations of me being unethical or stupid.

Hey bra, should we tell him about traditional boar hunting? He know so much areadly might make him head explode?

The grandfather of a friend of mine smokes 55 cigarettes per day since he was 12 years old and became 94 last week in good health ....

Does this mean that I would recommend a child to smoke cigarettes.......Oooh.... by the way an other friend of mine crashed his car against the wall with 150 miles per hour.... He just had some scratches on his head when he managed to step out of the crashed car ....

That means we shouldn't pass judgement as there are always exceptions to the rule. Rules are for the masses to follow.

I have a saying "conventional methodologies, yield conventional results." I find it interesting that many people, whatever their endeavors, strive for exceptional results, yet use convention methods and wonder why they don't often reach their goals.

I see pictures and videos on here of birds and squirrels raccoons, even stray cats ETC. with closeups of the wounds from this ammo and that ammo, guts and eyeballs hanging out flopping around for some time. People often baiting them in so they can shoot them, calling them pests and never seen anyone talking about ethical. I say Kaeokini is not only ethical but harvests what he kills. Great job👍

Exactly that is my point . There are exeptions to the rules. Also in succes ( ethical killing) rates from head shots on hogs with .25 pellets . All this does not mean it is always wise to “ gamble” on being part of that exeption . Rules are rules because empirical findings have established common sense in many cases and rules are constructed around these findings. Most of the time it is wise to follow these rules but you can always take a chance and try to be “ exeptional” . You can pass a closed gate at a railroadcrossing and see if you will be the exeption to the rule to stop . You can start smoking when you are young and see if you will become my friends old grandfather, you can drink a bottle of whisky and then drive your car and see if you can be the exeption that is not getting into trouble , you can try to crash your car and see if you get out unhurt by exeption to the rule....... you can try and shoot a .25 pellet in a grown up boar skull and see if it drops dead....... for all these kind of things there are exeptions to the rules. But if you want to try if you can be part of such exeptional events I rather want you to try it with or on yourself than on an animal that could also be killed humanely by sticking to the rules. By the way ai know that rules differ a lot between countries re minimum requirements for hunters on specific game in relation to ft pound / joules . Ik will post here some of those based on Dutch laws. You guys will probably piss in your pants when you read it....
