Largest Scope Objective on Leshiy?

I'm in the market for a new low light scope. What do you guys think would be realistic for the largest objective size that would be a good fit on the Leshiy?

I have another scope on the way for another build with a 42, but there's no o relapse with what I'd be looking for on the Leshiy (low light, minimum max of 15, illuminated reticle is a requirement).

I am considering this one for my carbine. It is pricey, but the glass is phenomenal, very lightweight , and on lower magnification can focus below 20 yards. And it has life time warranty.

That's one on my list! I'm not opposed to the cost, quality and reliability are always higher on my list.

I use a Hawke Frontier 2.5 -15 x 50, with Eagle Vision Infinity mounts. One of my favorite scopes.

How does it feel weight-wise?

Would love to see photos of it installed

3* magnification = ideal objective size. So for 15x that would be an ideal 44mm Objective lens minimum IMO. That is due to the size of the human pupil being 2-4 mm in bright light conditions. You can push down to the 2*mag but that is a stretch IMO and you may begin to see some dimming at higher magnifications.

Yep, I comprehend the physics involved. I'm just not sure that a 50MM objective bell would fit it well (since I've been considering a couple of different scopes with this size). Although I'm not too enthusiastic about the Vortex PST's in terms of reliability, I got to handle a 3-15x50 PST II, which seems like it would be pretty large for the Leshiy. The glass, magnification, and low light testing that it did with it was pretty damned good though! I can get one for a good price from a local dealer - but I'm just not sure if it would fit well!

I'd love to find something in a ~4-12 or 3-15 with a ~44MM objective, with a good (dim) illuminated reticle that has "usable" subtentions, for under $1K. I feel like the math on the $ per meter shouldn't exceed $10 (including mounts) on this gun. That is sort of where I'm at!

I use a 3-12x50 Hawk Sidewinder on my Leshiy and it works very well. This scope really brought my Leshiy to life and did so without overwhelming the rifle. Sad that Hawk no longer makes the 3-12x50 Sidewinder.

That sounds like a great scope configuration for it! Which rings do you have on it? I'd love to see a picture to get an idea of how a 50MM obj bell sits on it!

I decided to pull the metaphorical trigger on a new Vortex PST II 3-15x44 this morning. I got a great deal on it NIB from a local authorized dealer. I picked up some 2" forward vortex cantilever mount rings, with some luck - they'll fit without me having to add on the 2oz rail extender that I had bought from Amazon sometime ago!

I'll mount it later this evening and post some photos. Hopefully it works out!

I tried several scopes and currently run a dot sight on my Leshiy which I hate after hunting with it. Here is a pic of the Leshiy with a 6-24×50 Athlon Argos on it. It looks big but it made the leshiy a 100 yard killer.

I hear you on the dot sight! For fun, I threw one on and it was... well, not fun.

The PST II 3-15x44 is a little heavy, but this Warne mount provided a perfect amount of bell clearance (enough where I could get cold weather wrap all around too)..
