Kral Puncher Jumbo for First PCP?

Hey guys, I'm looking to buy my first PCP this week, and it seems that for the budget I have, the Kral Puncher Jumbo is going to be my best option. So far I've heard more pros about the gun than cons, with the exception that after a thousand rounds or so, the valve stem's spring breaks? I think that's an issue that Troy Hammer resolves though... Anyhow, I wanted to ask if anyone had the gun, and what their opinions were on it. What pellets does it like, is it maintaining its accuracy, was it accurate to begin with? I'll be ordering through Pyramyd Air, and definitely getting the 10 for $10 package.

I should also mention, I'm looking to get the gun in 25 cal, and will going to local farms to take out Northern Florida's most common pests, such as hogs, raccoons, and coyotes. For now, I'll be refilling the 2900psi bottle with a hand pump, but I'll be replacing that with a carbon fiber bottle as soon as my budget allows. The pump I ordered was the Hill Hand Pump MK4 without the air filter.
The scope I am ordering for the gun is the Aztec Emerald 5.5-25x50.

I tried to get one that was modified, but it just didnt happen. They were out of stock for a long time as well, so I couldnt get one to modify myself. As best I can tell they are very solid. The first batch of punchers did have valve issues. But I believe that was fixed on the second shipment. Had they been in stock, I would have bought one. Instead I got an FX Crown Continuum. Worth every penny.

That is a great point. That was a concern when I was looking at them. A lot of parts were not to be found anywhere. And their customer service is nonexistent. I can say that from experience.

FX on the other hand has been excellent with me. One of my stocks broke. Still not sure why. But they sent a new one ASAP, no questions asked. I also have duplicate parts for my crown for all the internals. Extremely easy to find, and all fairly priced.

Nothing wrong with that Kral! I have both the Puncher Breaker and the Puncher Pro,both in .22

ZERO problems with either. They have good power and are Very accurate! In addition, they are quite simple to work on.

This is a full mag (12 shots) from the Puncher Breaker at 50 yards using JSB 18.13's at 32 fpe. The Pro's results are just as good. I personally have a hard time justifying spending hundreds more on an air rifle with results like this...at least for My applications.

Pyramyd Air has parts on hand and Troy Hammer has excellent videos regarding disassembly/assembly. If you look up Air Velocity Sport you'll find some Great, informative videos as well!

Hope this is of help to You.

Mike

Thank you all for the input, I forgot to check up on this post.

Good to hear the issues with Kral were not with the bottle gun, I was not aware of that. I haven't thought of getting parts for it down the road, though I do know Pyramyd Air offers a replacement stock for the gun, past that, I'm not sure. The Marauder did cross my mind, but between the weight, and lack of a better barrel (I may be wrong, but the .25 caliber marauders are no longer as accurate with the Lother Walther/Crosman barrels, as they were with the Green hill barrels)
No, I never ended up getting the FX, unfortunately, I was not employed full time then, and couldn't justify the cost.
I'd like to get a dreamline down the road, or, possibly an impact, but I need to get a feel for PCP shooting on a budget.
Fantastic looking group there Scott, thanks :D

None yet, the rifle will be arriving on Wednesday. I changed the scope I was ordering with it, to something a bit cheaper for the time being, may upgrade later. I got the Kral Arms Puncher Jumbo .25 cal, the TAC Vector Optics Sentinel 6-24x50, and a 1.6" x 6.25" SUMO Donny Fl Moderator. Also got a cheap carbon fiber bipod, a Hill MK4, and 6 different kinds of ammo to try with it.
JSB Diablo Exact King 33.95g
JSB Match Diablo Exact King 25.4g
H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme's 28.24g
H&N Baracuda Hunter 27.47g
H&N Baracuda 30.86g
H&N Grizzly Hollowpoints 31g

Really hoping the grizzly's perform well, but the other ones have proven to be quite accurate in other Kral Arms Jumbo's. Not all barrels are the same, especially when dealing with a cheaper PCP like this (as opposed to an FX barrel or something), but we'll see how it turns out :)

Yeap, bore paste. I polish every single barrel of any gun I get, from the cheap Chinese ones to the FX stx barrels. Sometimes the difference is huge, other times unnoticeable. Either way, it'll get a smoother and more uniform cut on your pellets. Possibly a slight increase in accuracy and reduction in leading. Also should make the pellets fly better with less jagged cuts in their head/skirt

Really? Any bore paste you recommend in particular?
