Kral .25 Mega Marine review with FPS/FPE.

ok I recived the .25 Mega Marine last Saturday from Troy, I had him do his tune on it with a updated side lever, 1st off the Kral looks very nice came with no dings or dents and the finish is nice it’s the Turkish wood stock, I mounted a Discovery VT-Z 4-16x44SF scope on it then tetherd it up to my tank at 2900 psi and I’m shooting it off a Caldwell Dead Shot Field pod at a target 60 yards out on my lake. Overall it’s a very nice airgun from fit to finish for me anyway.

I got the 1st magazine loaded and put it in and cocked it, that was smooth but with some resistance the last inch or so which is normal other then that it loaded just fine, so I lined up my shot and pulled the trigger, ok the trigger is nice but I think I’ll lighten it up a tad bit more, anyway I pulled the trigger and all I heard was a ping sound and not having a normal target on the lake I didn’t know what happened it sounded like just the hammer being hit and couldn’t tell if a pellet was fired or not so my next shot I aimed at the snow in front of the target and sure enough it was shooting pellets, let me say this is the quietest firing airgun out of box that I’ve heard it kinda had me puzzled, all I heard was the hammer or ping sound so now that I’ve figured that this is shooting pellets this is definitely one friendly backyard airgun in my book, my next step was to get it on target, after a few more shots I seen it was shooting to the right about 3 moa so I cranked the scope to the right and now I’m hitting almost center on target although I do need to get a shoot and see out there so I know exactly what’s going on I haven’t needed to adjust the vertical yet. So I shot two more mags and called it good for the day. Troy said it shot 870-890 here is what I got at 2900 psi.

Here is my 2nd 10 shot mag thru the chrono tetherd at 2900 psi shooting MKII JSB pellets with power adjusted just a tad off high with chrono set about 2feet from end of muzzle. 849-856-845-848-853-852-862-856-853-858.

It didn’t get the 870-890 with the MKII that Troy said but I’ll see next time I shoot what I can get off a full fill.

Nice! I found my monometer to read a little high compared to my liquid filled gauge on my fill adapter - fill at your own risk - but I run about 3200psi, no issues. Hoping to get a mega soon, I like the idea of the side lever being right above the trigger and getting away from the trigger linkage in the bullpup. You're gun looks great. Looking forward to more pictures and reports.

I have the same gun, did not buy from Troy, just from PA, and mine has no sound moderation at all....I like a little noise.

I will echo most of what the OP said about the rifle.....in doing my research I read a few reviews, they said the stock was a bit rough and you may want to think about refinishing it....I bought stain before it came in, but it was so darn nice I chose not to do it....the stock was very nice. Reviews said cocking the rifle was "workman like" mine seemed smooth with a gradual increase in effort as the spring compressed then a nice click, not gritty, not loose, again really nice.

I still have not put mine over a chrono....I really need to, and have not dispatched any critters with it, but it does shoot very well out to 100 yards.

Sound I would say is about like a 22long out of a 20-ish inch barrel....long not LR. You hear it, you know you shot something, but it is not harsh if you are outside. I also shoot from inside my garage out into my back field, and if you are in the garage, the sound is a bit much....but outside no worries.

This is my first 25 and I really do enjoy it. I have shot it teathered as well as onboard air, it does not seem to eat air as bad as I thought it would, inside of 50 yards I get 3 mags easy.

Really a good rifle all the way around.

I shoot mine right where it sits in the 1st pic right next to my cabinet about 20 inches away and inside about 3 feet and it’s definitely quieter then my 10/22 or my Wildcat and Bully, like I said it’s a whole different sound or lack of when shooting. I did check power wheel and it’s all the way up on positive.

Im going to think it over for a bit but I might take the stock off and try some different stains on the inside of the stock to see if it’s worth doing the whole thing or just leave it light like it is and just put a clear Polyurethane on it, might darken it up a bit but that’s ok I also got it with a Black Synthetic Stock for hunting so I don’t wreck the wood stock.

This is all done tetherd with pressure set at full 2900 psi or 200 Bar with chrono sitting about 20” 24” From muzzle.

Ok so I turned the hammer spring adjustment 1/2 turn and this Is what I got with MKII 33.95s.

I think I’ll leave it right here for a while and let the two hammer springs settle down some and then I’ll see what it does on a 10 string shot, maybe do one more 1/2 turn in cw.

I didn’t have any flyers in those 20 shots and at 60 yards I was hitting same spot on target, just one big hole about the size of a quarter from what I can tell, im really liking the accuracy of this Kral and the psi I’m getting and again this is very house friendly as sound goes. Can’t wait to see what JSB 25.39s do, at 886 it looks Ike Im getting about 58.6 fpe so a half more turn of the hammer spring should put me at 60 fpe but I’ll wait to see what my next shot string does.

What is that scope like at 16X ? Is it usable like a high end scope or too cloudy for full power like most inexpensive scopes?

The reason I ask is that I've been considering that model to try HFT competition for the first time in the Spring. I shoot a 6-24x50 now and I don't fully understand the rules. Near as I can tell they will make me buy a 16X to enter.

Set at 16x and looking at my target at 60 yards it’s fine for me but 14x might be a tad bit better it’s hard to really tell, I normally shoot all my scopes set on 10 or 12x but if I put it on 16x to say shoot at 100yards it would be fine, no haze or cloudy look at all, although if this scope went to 20x I think it would start running into issues with the haze or cloud look that’s just the feeling I get with it but for the price it’s not bad at all.
