Thank you, I think it's a great compliment that you want to make the handle for this knife. However I love the process of making the whole knife and I'm looking forward to making the handle for this knife.

    Thank you.

Amazing! I bought a 5" Freeman 451 recently (CPM-3V), it's close to being the bushcraft knife that I wanted – but that one is a lot closer to what I was originally looking for!

I prefer Tree Brand Stockmans (six of them for everyday carry). But I have an SOG Slim Jim too. A 6 inch Case XX. And  a small CRKT lock back.

Finished the knife project “Fly tying and airgunning”.  (177 .25 and .35).  The fly I tied 20 years ago, but hopefully the fly forgive me it’s RIP-placement

Can’t post videos directly here, so I’ll try via My fb page or a lokal knife forum.

    Thanks Intenseaty.

Darell. Started knife making about 35 years ago, but had a break for some years. Picked up the hobby again three years ago.
And yes, tries to think outside the box. 😊

Strong Work my friend! I have an old cleaver that belonged to my uncle. I want to restore it sometime soon I think. Any tips welcome.

as far as restorations go. make sure to "quench" the heat away while doing any sanding/finishing/grinding especially near the bevel or edge. dont let it get more than 200°f, as to not ruin the heat treat of the steel. other wise it will have to be heat treated again.

which isnt really a big deal. if it's high carbon you can use a make shift coal or gas "forge" to bring to non magnetic and properly quench in parks50 or canola oil to reharden the steel, then normalized in an oven.

if its stainless or high chromium and has got too hot. depending on the specific steel, itll need to be re heat treated or entirely annealed and cryo treated with dry ice or liquid nitrogen.
