I am partial to Benchmade. These are the ones I have kept?

The three in the middle are my preferred EDC.

I see you have a strong bias towards Carbon Fiber. Have you talked to a therapist about this? I keep lusting after a Mini Griptilian myself, maybe one of these days, when they make a Carbon Fiber one.

My favorite knives are almost always Benchmade.  You can put them through anything and they still come out strong.  Their Balisong butterflys are amazing.  If you can pick one up I highly suggest it.  I have some pretty good Microtechs also.

The stiffness to weight ratio is very apparent on these. The one with the blue thumb stud is a bug out. With the custom carbon scales it is in a whole different class of knife. Benchmade’s S30V is almost competitive with their M390 in an EDC folding knife. A carbon bugout with M390 bladesteel would be a top notch EDC. Ergonomics of the bugout surpass the  griptillian for my needs. Check out the bugout.

    Hello-

Knife collecting is not an obsession for me, simply a passion.  Many years ago I decided to focus on one brand, and model: Randall Made, model 1. I try to buy one knife a year, when funds are available, and am always on the look out for something different. A few of my model 1's, and variants, are shown in the attached photo.

    Kind regards,

JW I know the Benchmade Blades are fantastic. I have been looking hard at them for a while, but have just not really found the one yet that speaks to me. The Mini Grip has that kind of apeal, but at the end of the day, I guess I'm a Spyderco Fanboy. Not in the stupid way "my knife is better than yours" way, but rather in the "I really really like the design of the Spyder Hole, shape of the blades, etc"

So, I just put in for two more: Chaparral for "Gent" EDC in CF. It has a very good workable steel that will do the job just fine. Paramilitary 2 "Burple" in S110V. I think it's a good offering/conbination Renouned design with well respected steel. Will report when I get them.

OK, here are most of my current blades. I may actually have to join a blade forum soon. That, and pick up some overtime.

My vote is definitely for Ka-bar knives. They are reliable and for reasonable prices. I have several of them, but my favorite is USMC Fighting Knife. Just look at it, and you ll understand what I mean.

Unicorn just dropped in. The Sage 4 is an Al Mar inspired knife that is no longer being made.

Intenseaty, is it a kind of trigger we see when the Unicorn is folded? And does the “trigger” stick out permanently?

Edit:  wha…. my foult!  It is of course the shadow of the whole we see there.

Not even close to the fine knives mentioned and photographed in this thread but these are my working knives. From the left my trusty pocket knife which is always in my left pocket. Next is my latest filleting knife. The long knife is for filleting barramundi, mackerel and other large fish. The next knife is for cutting mud crabs in half so they can be cleaned prior to cooking, yum 😋. The last is my old filleting knife that my youngest son found in the sand on Moreton Island approx 25 years ago. It’s too thin to be useful anymore but I can’t bring myself to throw it out.

Raffir and buckeyewood. Very smooth, and a bit slippery, so finger grooves are a must.
