“Buckeye”My EDC is a Benchmade, my gentleman knife is made by a smith near me. It was made from the antler of my first elk. Intenseaty, what is the name of that Kershaw, I like the taper of the blade?

This is my Strider MSS. Its the only high end knife I've ever bought. All my other knives are either cheapies or heirlooms. I can definitely see where the money went on this one. The steel is amazing in terms of how long it holds an edge. With most knives I have to touch them up when a couple of times when cleaning a deer. With this knife I can blow straight thru skinning, quartering, and deboning without ever having to touch it up. It does take a long time to sharpen though because the steel is so hard.

The easy way to shapen a knife like that is to use some kind of angle jig….like the wicked edge.

I think that knife is deffently worth the money…u get what u pay for

Intenseaty22 – your first post mentions "gentleman's knives", which I've always considered to be less tactical and more practical. One that you can pull out to use in public without anybody feeling intimidated or otherwise wierded out.

I'm a recovering Case addict. This is my gentleman's knife. Also known as my "pimp knife". It never gets an " Oh no, here goes Rambo" reaction. In fact the ladies always think its cute.

Mike, very cool little Case you have there. I have a couple on my wish list, may pull the trigger one of these days.

I have a Knife Works Ken Onion for my sharpening needs. Works great, gives a beveled? (Rounded) edge vs an angled one. Also own the Spyderco sharpening kit that is very portable and gives a good edge when knife is already in good repair.

I have been into Moras lately.  Saw wranglerstars vid on that chisel one and next tbing you know i have and Eldris and a basic 511 (is that what it is?)along with the chisel.  Gotta love $15 near unbreakable knives.  Most of my other knives are cheap Chinese crap but I do have a EDC leatherman Style cs. Also have the electrician pliers one that is the size of the micra and a full blown wingman.

I have Spydercos, Benchmades and a couple of custom knives I picked up used. Could never justify the price of a Chris Reeve. But last christmas, I caved and picked up a Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21. It is by far the most solidly made gentlemen's folder I have. The tolerance is second to none and everything about it just feels better than the rest of the folders I have. All the lines and curves on every part of the Sebenza is straight and connects perfectly. It opens and closes with authority, with that solid Sebenza vault thump. Hard to describe till you hold one in your hand.

But then again, it does cost 2-3 times more than the average high quality folder.

These are some old pics of my Spydie collection from my old Photobucket account. I'm down to five of them now because I either sold or gave away some of them to friends and family. I still have a Yojimbo that's not in this pic. Also had a Manix 2 XL not in this pic but gave it to my brother-in-law.

A few ZT's, Emersons, and Reate. I had to slow down on the knives to fund my airgun obsession. I also slowed down on my powder burners. Too many hobbies, not enough dough.
