What are your favorite brands? Models? What do you primarily EDC?
I love me some Spyderco. I own a Sage in Carbon Fiber and a Dragonfly with green G10. Just bought an CS exclusive Native 5 in Orange and Black. Up until now I mostly EDC my Sage.
I’m looking for a nice Gentleman’s knife now. Any recommendations?
Have a a couple models on my wish list. Looking at a nice Benchmade or two.

My 3 Amigos..... Spyderco, Benchmade and KiserDecember 25, 2017 at 2:59 pm LinkI collect knives, mostly combat knives/miltary style, and speed assist folding ones that look nice or have a military apearance.
Mostly cheap but useable stuff in the $30-50 range from Amazon or Cutlery Corner. I have a buddy who has a huge knife collection, he’s constantly buying them. Most of the stuff he buys are in the $100-200+ range.. All made in the US, Russia, Spain, etc. But nothing from China.
Pretty much everything I have is made in China, haha! But they’re still nice. And it’s all I can afford for now.

Top to bottom
Boker Kalashnikov auto side opening. for everyday work use
Carson Design.
Benchmade Mini Reflex. auto side opening. I would call this a Gentleman’s knife and I love this knife.
Microtech Ultratech S/E out the front auto opening, I bought this for my brother for Christmas and is the same as the bottom one that is my everyday carry.
I don’t know what your state laws are about auto opening knifes but they just legalized auto knifes In MI. and I can’t stop buying them I am looking for a custom Benchmade it’s getting worse then my addiction to air guns.

I love that Mini Reflex you have. I’m looking for a nice Gent’s right now, but have not settled on one yet. I’m not really a fan of the autos. I love the Spyderco hole because it gives me ultimate control, and it can be deployed very fast anyway. Upload your custom when you get it.

And also the Kershaw 1550 Blackout cost way more($70)but does not hold and edge any better than the Oso. Both easy to open with one hand, keeps a sharpe edge, just a little work on the razor strap and it’s back razor sharp. We remove the pocket clip and drop in my back pocket The for removing the clip is that it poke a hole in my bass boat seat, i was not a happy camper. Been carry one close to 25 years. We have a few Case and custom knives but the Kershaw hold an edge better than anything that we like to carry. My custom knives might hold an edge better but just not what I call a work knife, I need something to open with one handed when fishing or just working on something I need to cut.

Bought it right around 2000. Blade rotates on ceramic ball bearings. Really smooth. Very rigid when opened and locked. Love the serrated/plain edge. Super easy to open with one hand using the hole.
Not knife obsessed nearly as much as AIRGUN obsessed

All have been used and not in new condition. This is my all time favorite, partly because it’s a fine knife but mostly because it was a 16th birthday present over 50 yrs ago. I’d hate to count how much game it’s skinned over the years. Thought you knife people might like looking at it.

January 19, 2018 at 8:35 am Link@dirte, your cooking knife caught my eye. My mother’s family is the Kramer family (here in the States) and, at one time, owned a foundry in Dayton OH. That is not the origin of your fine steel blade – just a coincidence that made me stop and do a double take. Bon apetit!

@michael both the Boker & the Shun, nice. I have a Boker on my wishlist, but blade is a little longer than what I wanted for a Gent’s knife. So I picked up Al-Mar inspired Kershaw. ~$30

Intenseaty, what is the name of that Kershaw, I like the taper of the blade?
