After reading dark1961’s post about Kevlar backing, I jumped on the idea, and ordered this

assuming heavier is better...his weighed 7 oz per yard, this is 14 oz. it has the carbon fiber look to it...didn’t cut easily with scissors, but a sharp blade sliced it...I bought 2 yards, so mine came in a large tube, 5’ long..I unrolled it, and cut one strip which gave me 3 layers on my backstop...I hung all 3 from the top so the were “curtained in the trap...pellets went right thru it, kinda snagged a fiber and pushed it on thru the next, and the next...22 caliber at around 800fps.... ive gotta rethink this...maybe fastening them tight to my 1/4” steel plate is the answer, for sure more layers...I’m gonna try 6 layers flat against the steel backer...
I’m also using a dense rubber composite “welcome” mat and i’ll Put it first, then the Kevlar stuff...it seems like it should work ok, with some changes...if the layers of Kevlar are flat against something it might keep everything in...
i use a hardened steel plate at the back, because 0n rare occasions, i’ve had to fire center fire rifle stuff into it..(much to my wife’s dismay)
