So I didn't go to rmac, but am planning on going to the PA cup next year. I am leaning towards entering the amateur class as I don't know how competitive I'll be in the pro division. I guess the prizes for the amateur class will also make a difference, if it's 5 tins of pellets why bother. That's why earlier I asked if anyone knew what was on the prize tables.

Must have got one of those hand picked "soda straw" barrels right guys? Right?

I am 100% positive about that. Whisky promotes Utah Airguns and FX. He got the best they have.
there is no doubt UA and Keith are working together so just wondering IF they get special treatment and hand picked barrels. We can speculate all we want and if they did they probably won’t admit it BUT out of over a dozen FX straws I have/had new and used I haven’t found one that shot bad. Granted I haven’t spent that much time with the pellet A liners but all the slug A, superior and heavy barrels I had all could have been hand picked if you ask me, they just shoot lights out if I do my part.
So the speculations will continue and mystery will never get solved…..

Putting it out there for all. You can choose to believe me or not, but for the record FX does not hand pick barrels for any of our Pro Shooters or competitors. We simply send them out. Plus we really don't have the bandwidth to A/B test like that, and thankfully we don't have to - as the STX barrels do their job.
Certainly with anything manufactured, it makes sense that something could go wrong and a bad barrel is produced (though the barrels sold in rifles have all been tested with the rifle at Sweden, so really not those). That's the beauty of the FX Airguns warranty and the beauty of the interchangeable barrel liner system. That STX barrel can we easily swapped out!
Again, there will be those that choose not to believe me, but I personally took a gun off the rack, shot it for a couple of hours the day before RMAC, and made it into the finals. That is the reality of things. We have that level of trust with our rifles that there's no hand picking anything for any of our shooters.
