Kalibrgun Argus 60 in .22 any good?

Hi there,

I am thinking of getting my first highend gun and have the argus 60 in .22 on my radar for quite sometime. I really like the look of it. I will be doing mostly backyard plinking at 20 yards and out to the mountains for long range plinking. I don't see much review anywhere on this gun especially in .22. How are the accuracy? I plan to only shoot pellets, don't care for slugs at this moments. I saw quiet a few for sale in the used section, which is a concern...is it because it's not any good.?

If you currently or had owned one, what's the good, bad, and the ugly about the gun?

If you want reviews you can find Taipan veteran long reviews, basically the same but a longer barrel.

I considered the taipan veteran not too long ago but just don't like the rear cocking. Still likes the Argus 60 but hard to pull the trigger on something so expensive without more research.

I watched Steve's AEAC review of it but raised some red flags when he said the pellets only starts to stabilize when detuned to 820fps with 18.13 grain. Does the pellet spirl down range if going too fast with this gun only or happens to any gun and barrel?

Another reviewer Nate from the airgun channel said he was experiencing problems with his Argus 60 in the comments and wouldn't recommend it. I saw his video rebooted gun sold twice here at AGN.

That's why I am looking for reviews from real owners who isn't being paid to review a product.

I have had mine going on a year now. For me, I find the gun very accurate out to 60 yrds. I don't have any way to take a longer shot yet. Very smooth cocking lever, trigger is crisp and needed no adjustment. Photos are shooting 18 gr @ approx 900 fps. This is not my first pcp and won't be my last. Purchased mine from Charlie at Georgia airgun. He is great to work with.👍

Reviews can be found on YouTube..! A coupla good ones, a few ok ones, but you'll have some viewing time..! All have info worth watching.

While I have the shorter 45 version in .22, yes, I like the gun. Though I did do a stock modification to mine. Very well built, the mechanics are nice, shoots very well, like the target shots shown above. Comfortable to shoot, fairly quiet.

Does that help with your..."any good" question ?

Mine shoots like a laser very accurate and backyard friendly. Mine does like 18gr pellets around 850fps stacks them on top of each other. As has been stated a bit bigger version of the Taipan Vet( I have one of those to) with forward cocking. Very well made very durable have not had any reason to take mine apart yet but it seems pretty straight forward.

I am ready to pull the trigger, just don't know what kind of scope mount to get. Don't know anything about picatinny and weaver mounts. Looking through the spec section of the manufacturer website, it says it's a weaver mount, but weaver mounts seems to be slim picking from brands I know. also do I use high, medium, or low mounts? I have a hawke airmax 6-24 30mm scope.

I have an Argus 60 in.22, purchased from Georgia Air Guns in March. I have fired approximately 4000 pellets since purchase. I have had no issues other adjusting the trigger to my liking. It is scoped with an Arken 6-24X50 on their cantilever mount. It is NOT a carry gun … weighing in at 11.9 lbs with my installed scope. I must admit, it has set on the gun rack for the last 3 months. Why? I does not need any tinkering. I don't have anything to do to make it shoot better. I'm the weak link. I have spent my time, more recently, with my Avenger .22 and my Armada … they need my help, not the Argus.

After getting to shoot my gun, I was sadly disappointed that 44.75 gr pellets were only flying at 690 fps! Cranking the hammer spring to the limits got me to 790 fps, so I had to do a disassembly to adjust the regulator.

Hopefully this was just an oversight.

I'll do some testing tomorrow, but definitely not what I was expecting from a $1400 gun. I'm even more disappointed with the service (or lack thereof) I got from Krale. Two phone calls got me two broken promises.

Welcome to the Argus club Estarkey7. Really digging the ATN Argus combo. Still have plans for 3D printed stocks? It would be cool if the stock have some kind magazine holder like the cricket. Attached is my current setup.

Yeah, A magazine holder is a must! I never get tired of seeing everyone's favorite Argus setup, as the gun is second to none in the looks department!
