Just wanted to say hello.

Awhile ago, I sold the bulk of my airguns, quit working on airguns, and disappeared from AGN. Busy job, young kids, and furthering my involvement in other interests led to this decision. What few guns I have left have basically just collected dust since my departure. Then the opportunity to get back in a race car has all but eliminated airguns from my mind.

Well, racing season is over and I have been spending my time hunting and working on firearms and archery equipment. Still leaving airguns but a distant memory.

A week or 2 ago, I got a text from an airgun buddy. That followed by a phone call that was short and left me somewhat baffled?? I have been really busy and basically had forgot about the text and call. Early this week, my wife sent me a text while I was at work asking what in the world I had ordered now. I was confused as I couldn't remember ordering anything. Keep in mind I had just bought a couple new firearms and a new bow press so my wife was a bit annoyed to say the least.

When I returned home from work there was a box waiting on me and I had no clue what it was or who it was from. After reading the shipping label i quickly remembered my text and chat with Doc (NMshooter here on AGN) Opening the box left me speechless.

There was also a note. More or less Doc said he hoped this stock might get me interested in airguns again.

Those that remember me probably know that I am a huge fan of the Marauder. Unfortunately, I no longer owned one. Just so happens that Doc made this stock for a Marauder and for good reason I suppose!! My wife was just as surprised as I was and before I could say it, she said "guess you are gonna order a gun to fit that stock" Only took me about 30 minutes to find a good deal on a .25 Marauder. I only kept .177 and .22 air guns, so I had to order some pellets as well.

While I doubt I ever get as involved as I used to be, this gift has brought me back to AGN and regained some interest in a hobby that once consumed my day to day life. I had gotten rid of all my marauder parts, so I doubt I will do anything but a basic blueprint and tune. I am excited to take it on a squirrel hunt this winter once I am done filling deer tags.

Doc, this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me. Your work is beautiful and words couldn't express my gratitude. Thank you for giving me a nudge!! I have missed AGN.

Hip, hip, hurray! Way to go Doc, you lured him back in!!!!! Wow, that thing is a beauty.
Really glad to see you back on here Aaron. You and Doc both are a wealth of knowledge and an asset to the forum.

Aaron, you're lookin' sharp in that race buggy. Lucky for us the season is over ;-)

Oh, I just had to edit this little diddy in for ya. Welcome back to the "Dark Side" LOL

Welcome back Aaron! I remember you answering a couple questions I had when I got my discovery. You were very friendly and helpful and I appreciated it very much. Just find your comfort level with your involvement. I take breaks from the internet, it helps. I think Ted is taking some needed time off. Glad your back and good luck with those deer tags!

Aaron,
You have been most helpful to me (and others) in my early stages of air gunning. I have appreciated all the encouragement, advise, and discussions on airguns. You have been a wealth of knowledge and a great contributor to this forum. It's funny that I really got all over my son about his "friends" on the internet a few years ago but I have changed my tune with all the friends I have met on this forum.
I picked up the wood for your stock in August and I have been chuckling every day since planning this. Wyshadow was the only one who knew I had this up my sleeve! Since I finished it in Boiled Linseed Oil, it took foreeeeeeeever for the finsh to finally dry (over a month)! I thoroughly enjoyed doing the project and really hope it functions well for you and gives you the same amount of joy! I would love to be there when you take your first squirrel with it! This is just a token to say thanks for being a friend to all of us!

Hope you decide to be at least a little part of this forum!

I have owned more Marauders than I can count. Maybe I was just lucky, but this new one came with a test target(never got one in the past) and there seems to be some needed improvements. Trigger group now has some shims that never existed before that I used to make shims for on all my previous guns. Airtube machining quality was much better. I still honed it, but probably didn't need it. It appeared that the gun was tuned from the factory as it produced better stock numbers than any of my previous. Trigger was set very light but I prefer single stage, so I adjusted it to single stage with a clean break at 7.5oz.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get it zeroed in. Can't thank Doc enough for rekindling my love of airguns!! Honestly feels good to be back on AGN!! Missed the forum and all the great airgunners here!!
