"T3PRanch"I always find it amusing when an Airgunner pulls the trigger too soon and then gets angry because a better target appeared a few moments later that they are no longer prepared for. :)
When an airgunner waits for the right target and takes careful aim before "pulling the trigger" then the shot need not be regretted or lamented.

"LDP"It would depend on why its being shipped a week after purchase. I bought a wolverine B Hi Lite .25 from AOA and it took a week for them to ship it. I did call once to ask why it didnt ship and I was told they were still checking it over and shooting it to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I got it and its a tack driver and holds air so I was fine with the extra 5 days. Spin that story the other way around and have the rifle shipped the same day the order was placed. Instead of receiving a perfect air rifle you get a leaky one or inaccurate one then have to send it back for it to be fixed. I will put a bet on it that the customer would be cussing the dealer saying they should have checked it before sending it so they wouldnt be dealing with that problem. Some times no matter what you do you wont make people happy.

I here you, and you have a point. BUT -6 days to fly to the International Space Station, dock with it, repair it, and fly home to Earth vs. 5 days to test a BB gun. I have built entire bathrooms in 5 days, from studs to paint, rebuilt entire transmissions. If it takes 5 days to test an airgun you are doing something very wrong. This is not a difficult business to master.

Its a business and I dont know how many airguns they ship on a daily basis. If they have one guy who does the inspection and another guy who does the shooting or one guy to do both then he can only do so many things in a day. So even if I placed an order on Monday it will take 1 - 4 hours to get it processed again depending on the exact local time the order came in and how much staff is on hand to pull the order once the funds are verified. So if the order gets pulled that day and gets put on the desk of the guy doing the inspection and or accuracy testing he may not have time to start until Tuesday. Then after the inspection of the whole rifle for defects they have to fill it and then leave it sit for up to 48 hours for a leak down test. That pushes the time to Wednesday if everything else got done by the end of Monday and if it wasnt until Tuesday it will be Thursday before they know if it passes the leak down test. After all that they are going to run it over the chrony, check accuracy and adjust power if its off from what its suppose to be. If theres no problem with accuracy its boxed back up and sent over to the shipping department. If you look at that timeline the earliest it will ship is Friday exactly 5 days after the order was placed and in some cases Monday or Tuesday again depending on the local time the order was received and how busy the staff is if nothing went wrong during testing. I probably just wasted my time typing this but I think the only wrong thing here is people thinking you pull out the airgun within 5 min of the order being received, put some air in it and shoot 5 rounds and box it back up and say it was inspected and shove it out the door. Like I said people are going to complain even if they got their package the same day it was ordered because it wasnt also inspected and had some type of flaw imagined or real.

A buddy of mine bought a pretty expensive air rifle and paid to have it checked over and shot before it was shipped. It came with a test target and a chronograph print out but was still sealed in the factory bag. He thinks all they did was stuck the paper work in the box and shipped it, who knows, they may have re sealed it in the factory bag.

That's fair. Are you always this touchy or is this a personal subject for you and I have triggered some emotions? Does it really take 48 hours to determine if a sealed cylinder is leaking air? (serious question) Not that it matters in this instance as it is a springer, NOT a PCP. Doh! The funds are verified? Are they not verified instantly like everywhere else debit and credit cards are processed? (serious question) So the guns are sitting around empty, with no air in the cylinders at all? That's interesting becuase I read all the time that leaving a PCP rilfe empty will ruin it, and Pyramid Air even has an article about this very issue on their webpage (ruin is their word) which instructs you to always keep air in the gun.

If only there was a way to test these guns beforehand, rather than wait until the customers order them, and then only to find out the gun is broken right before you are about to sell it. Seems like a good way to end up in a situation where you have 15% of your inventory worthless, and yet your money as a "business" is being wasted on worthless inventory, rather than earning money in investments or at least inventory that you can sell. Waiting to find out if the gun is broken feels sorta like an Easteregg hunt, except you and the customer have no idea where your money is going. I dunno, seems like an inefficient method to run a business of this nature, but what do I know, I'm just the customer with the money.

No way, there is no possible way they did not test it. Airgunners are forthright and dutiful in all things, beyond reproach even. With it taking 5 days to inspect each rifle you might understand that sometimes corners have to be cut. :)

Lol. you need to read my posts again. You complained about waiting and I said it would depend on why it took longer and gave an example of an order I had that took 5 days to ship and why I was ok with that wait.There was no emotion involved on my part, it was a simple example from my personal experience. I said I was wasting my time trying to explain because you are the one stomping around acting like a child and getting mad because you are not getting validated on your emotional issues. Go troll somewhere else cause you are not getting anywhere doing it here.

They have what you want. ...but also, when you have to ship guns everyday it becomes routine and then it becomes not fun anymore. Its work and you have do it every day.

I do junk removal and at the end of the day or on weekend I'm not going to pick up my phone...I don't care how much money your offering. Iv'e missed plenty of big jobs that way but I don't care. Perhaps the Air Gun sellers feel the same way.

I would say getting a gun 1 week after your order it is pretty fast.

I'm with BlindBallenin 100%; It's totally unacceptable to get something in 2 weeks if it's in stock and not in China. Hell, I get orders from China in 5 days if they charge for shipping. Especially with high-end gun, I bought high end guns from AoA, they told me it takes 5 days to test so I asked why should I pay for high end guns if they need 5-day to test which show no confidence with the high end product they carry. "High-end" should be bomb-proof! It does happen sometimes with expensive stuffs but 5-day to test a gun? It's not like they sell boat load of AGs daily. Between AG vendors and shipping companies, the total experience with buying an AG is an absolute ZERO. I wish Amazon starts selling high end AGs, I get my order in 2-day and super easy to return if I have any problem with my order, no BS restocking fee, nothing. Someone will learn a good lesson if Amazon gets into the game.

Haven't had much issue getting a new gun from the dealer other than my own impatience. Even the high dollar guns have a wait time. Yes the guns are being checked to make sure they hold air and function properly. But I don't think that takes as much time as we think. But, the guns are set at the factor to a middle of the road tune. Each dealer has their own idea of what that is and decide on their own to set the guns in a way that either 1. They feel it performs the best, or 2. get it the way the customer requests.

The problem is that from gun to gun, you can't just always set the hammer spring to 8 turns and it will be perfect. Each gun is different and needs to be put through some paces to check how it is shooting. I have no problem giving the dealer a few days to do that for me to ensure that my gun is set where I want it. All I have to do is clean the barrel, mount the scope, air it up and go shoot.
So 4 days to tune, 4 days in shipping. I usually get the package in 8-10 days depending on who I order from and how they ship.

And, now that FX is here, maybe they will have more than a couple of gunsmiths who are being worked to death filling orders.
