Just not a FX fan…

Yes I’m sure to get some “business” about my lack of support for the vaunted FX air guns. But to me , this brand has that extra fancy, light , sleek , refined look along with all the flash one could want. To me , they also come pre leaking, weak ass gauges- M3 has 1 FX along with 2 wika gauges? Reversed safety? Along with the many multiple o rings- lol!
I don’t need that, I big time respect mr. axelson , but I’ll stick with the simpler more durable designs. FX is a huge innovator, granted, but I don’t feel it’s worth the aggravation to wait 6 months for an item and months more for the upgrades.

I had an elaborate response written out to this, then deleted it.
to simplify, I like my fix guns, but I bought them both used, and they were “problem free” when I got them. I also like my leshiy classic (which I also bought used) and find myself reaching for that more than the others. Why? Because of simplicity. I got the fox guns wanting the tuneability and modularity, but in the end, I grab the simplistic, and accurate leshiy.
I like all my guns, and they all have their place, but the simplistic leshiy is my number one.
mom looking into a veteran for this same reason.

Agree 1000%

My first PCP / airgun for that matter, was a Cyclone, aside for a tube clamp to get a airsoft bipod mounted nothing extra on that one.

Also no wait for it, picked it up in a shop but that was of course 10 years ago, but of course today thats a whole other matter in many product categories, so i wouldn't blame FX much for having to wait.

And i am still waiting on the Maverick i ordered on March 20, and that is indeed no fun at all, actually quite frustrating as with some things i have little patience.

I do think on the gauges, all will change to the better new ones, so as for the M3 they maybe put that one not so good one on there to get rid of inventory.

Just as i assume now that they have superior liners, they will not be making old STX or ST liners, my .177 "special" Maverick do also come with a superior liner even if all documentation on .177 Mavericks ( compact ) say STX barrels. But i have verified with FX and they say my .177 VP / sniper bastard Maverick will come with a superior barrel.

Granted the .177 compact versions might be with a STX barrel, if not then i think it is too mad that FX have not made that change in their documentation, just as i have complained to the local Danish seller about him not changing this fact in his site, and remover the "available in July" text as thats clearly not going to happen now.

FX also ( i am told ) upgrade orders for old MK2 impacts to M3 ones, at least with the accept of the shop that ordered it, i dont think they want to make / sell any MK1 and MK2 impacts going forward.

Gun ethically i do prefer something like my cyclone with its nice walnut stock, but this time around i wanted to thy this bullpup thing, and the ones with wood on mostly turn me off i have to admit.

Remember i am Danish, a country renowned for simplicity in design like you will see in B&O audio products ASO. And trust me there is also a few changes i would make to the Maverick look if i was in charge, first and foremost have the barrel tube go all the way back to the breech and so not have that piece of exposed "barrel" at the back.

We all have our opinions and there is nothing wrong with you saying what your saying. I own 4 FX rifles and like each one. I have had some issues with two of them but once FX fixed them they have been great. From my Dream-Tac, Impact MK2, Maverick and now the MK3 I have been pleased. I also have a few others from Hatsan and Air Force but I usually grab the Maverick for around the house.

I liken this discussion to what car/truck do you people drive. Some will swear by Ford F-150 while others will swear by their Ram 1500; it’s all personal preference. Isn't it awesome we live in a country that allows us those freedoms of choice!
Again, I thank you for your opinion and don't get upset, just understand we are all different with different needs and wants.
And I was one of those folks that had purchased a MK2 in .357 a week before they announced the MK3. AirgunDepot took the MK2 back and it was exchanged to the MK3 with no issues; FX did right by me.

Ram2jeep- not at all, lol! I’m just gabbing a bit for the IDK , say 30 percent airgun folks that stand out for more solid , simpler designed guns. FX dominates posts , whereas AGT , RTI , taipan, kalibrgun, along with zebrioa, and now airmaks along with many others. Simply IMHO - FX is very good , just not THAT good. But all is friendly, trust me , big ragu loves breaking my stones about my failure to see the Light with FX . I don’t do competition shooting, so I love rugged , set it and forget it “ boringly accurate “ guns.

I luckily got my Crown right before everyone and their cousin was ordering fx guns, so mine actually was done proper by QC.

I don't believe I'll ever part with it. For hunting... It's got some things going for it most people wouldnt be aware of. Suffice it to say, it actually is VERY nice. Well above just aesthetics.

I don’t understand the FX haters. Just because you don’t like them doesn’t mean you have to denigrate them.

This isn’t fx hate. The OP has had fx guns in the past. He is similar to me, and a bunch of others here that just don’t think the sunshine shines out of fx barrels. They are good guns, nobody is hating on them here. They’re just not for everyone. You want a gun that’s infinitely timetable, buy fx. If you want a set it and forget it, or built like a brick, stay away from fx. It’s that simple.
I go both ways. I have my impact mk2 and wildcat mk2 that have their place.

It's great that we're spoiled for choice. However, when I looked at getting a new gun, I wanted a proven performer. I wanted something that would be there and supported for years to come...and sturdy enough to make it for all those years. I also love the "tinker-toy" approach that I can use to make it whatever I want, even if I didn't buy it that way. Bought it in a caliber that doesn't work for you? Swap 'er out. Fantastic design with the huge plenum, which makes it really efficient (I've got the Maverick). I'm getting about 100 shots before I fall off the reg with 14.3 CPHP @ ~900 FPS. It literally does everything I want it to do and more. Now I find out that they're going to release 300 bar bottles for it, so I'll get a 20% increase for the price of a new bottle. 120 shots out of a compact bullpup with a 300cc bottle? Amazing.

The big thing though is making yourself happy. Obviously I'm really happy. If you don't like FX, that's cool too, as log as you're happy, which you seem to be. That's what it's all about. :)

Great statement. There is much to be said for a airgun that you know when you need it, it's going to shoot exactly the same as the last time.

I put my AA S510 XS Carbine in this category. Very solid gun, great looks, and has been proven over and over. It does however lack any adjustability.

I wanted to try the bullpup form factor but hate a bottle up front and generally don't like the wood trigger guard thing.

Then, I ran across the FX Dreamline Bullpup. It has all the adjustments and sleek looks. I recently bought one in .22 cal in stock at New England Air Gun.

Compared to my AA you would think this new and great FX would blow it away in every aspect. NOT TRUE!!

The AA will hold it's own in every way but is non-adjustable.

We will see how it goes.

Well some times,,,,, okay often, i speak my mind on subjects even if its not warranted, and on the negative front it do happen more often, but i think that is the norm. But i dont think that make me a hater,,,, at least i do tend to be objective even with criticism, cuz just spewing out vile that get no one anywhere.

So for all sake i am a all FX guy even when i get my new gun, but do not for a second think i do not want to shoot any and all airguns out there, and also own several of them.

Its just as a Dane on a pension, well i have very little wiggle room in the wallet, but getting it my way FX would probably be a minority in my airgun collection.

And if i ever get to do my dream great American tour, i will be dropping many many many 1000 USD just on shooting powder burners, so trip will be terrible expensive and it will also take several months as the large country have many places i must see, and also a good deal of internet friends i must meet.

Having a different opinion doesn't mean hater. We all have different wants and needs. Nothing wrong with that. I too prefer a simplistic robust gun. Besides the Royale/Bobcat series (which I owned one and still didn't find it robust) FX airguns aren't known for being simple and robust. Just how it is. Nothing wrong with that but some of us aren't a fan of that.

Remember when we were happy with 3 flavors. That was then, this is now. Fx is the Baskins-Robbins of airguns. They make something for everbody. You have to admire their marketing department. Make it a little better each time and add a few more gadgets. I have buddies that own and love them. I'm the old pellet type guy that shoot the old stuff. Az tuned Rapid .20, Charlie tuned Cricket compact .22. Out to 100 yds with good old pellets i hang with them and take their beer money at times. It's your money, buy what you like and be happy .Just get in the game.

Helpful.

Made for the desktop wantabe commandos.

Not.

As to OP, as is often the case, opinions vary.

Tbh I think more people should look through the list of dealers I’ve seen many smaller dealers posting about having Mavericks, M3s, and other company guns usually on back orders not to hate on Utah or anything but they sent the only dealer or pyramid Air , if I was the guy waiting since March for my Maverick. I’d probably watch the forums a little closer and just buy somewhere else. I got my m3 from a sort of smaller dealer the day I saw them came out I ordered and got it not long after words I’d I would have went to Utah or any other big name might have gotten stuck waiting months (because like someone else said I think they upgraded the back orders of m2s to m3s so day 1 those rifles they got in were already spoken for)

I’ve had a great experience with the crown mk 1, dream tac, and my M3, I also got my wife a Leishy and we have a small pump cross man we got at Walmart or a sporting goods store I can’t remember.

Yep , this post lit up a few opinions as well as well presented points. Sucky part of text is the lack of voice inflection. Now , I have owned 5 FX guns, liked them all , but didn’t fall in Love with them. That’s all. Now I recognize all the innovations mr axelson has brought forth. It’s just sometimes the FX brand gets OVERBLOWN out of proportion. I’m not a hater by any means. Opinions do vary , and that’s awesome, otherwise we all would have nothing to discuss or debate. Maybe I was looking to knock FX down a peg to reality. Like another poster mentioned, “FX doesn’t have rays from the sun coming out the barrel “
