The FEDEX Delivery guy must have gotten word that we are almost in peak Whitetail Deer rut soon here in Northern Michigan! I have been saying this a lot lately, but this right here is GAME CHANGING TECHNOLOGY!

STEAMBOW and Air Venturi partnered to offer this awesome new option for archery season and all I can say is WOW! The team over at Pyramyd Air took things to the next level with this tactical M4 collapsible stock and the Air Venturi 3000 PSI regulated bottle. You can use disposable CO2 cartridges with this, but as a big bore airgunner I like to use my Air Venturi HPA tanks and 4500 PSI Compressor instead of CO2.
If you have been following our work here in Michigan to get Airbows and Air Bolts legalized for disabled hunters during the archery season and for EVERYONE as an approved projectile during firearms season - you will know this has been an uphill battle. But then this AMAZING bit of technology comes along and adds to the narrative of offering safer and easier to use air powered devices during the archery season.
This is 100% legal here in Michigan and any other state that allows for crossbows, with NO ADDITIONAL legislative action.
WHY? Because the arrow / bolt propellant is the under tension string and bow arms - NOT the high pressure air. The HPA just adds the magic to this platform to create a safer and I am guessing a higher rate of fire situation so if you need to get off a second shot you just pull the sting with one hand to latch it - pop in a bolt - and hit the knob to pressurize the bow. I am guessing in about 5 seconds you could have a second shot ready to go with some practice.
I will be showing this device in more detail on video - but it is SUPER easy to load with one hand NOT under string tension and then hit the big red GAME ON knob (my word - not official STEAMBOW verbiage) and you are locked and loaded with a 20 inch bolt slinging the broadhead of your choice!
I am going to be going with some THORN RIFT 2.2 Broadheads from Lethal Air and Chad Simon when I go into the field. He swears by those things and when Chad talks Deer Hunting - I listen. These broadhead have over 2 inches of cutting diameter and fly like a field point. So when you are getting zero'd in - you don't have to worry about different flight characteristics like you normally do with fixed blade broadheads. To de-cock the Sen-X Onyx Tactical Crossbow you just pull the red knob and it removes all string tension and then you just remove the bolt. This is the game changing part of this device. The VAST majority of hunting accidents with archery equipment happens when you are getting in and out of your blind. If you are using a tree stand - that margin of safety consideration gets exponentially more critical.
So with the Sen-X Onyx Tactical Crossbow folded up in my bow carrying backpack I can use my climbing stand safely. Get set up in the tree and quickly reassemble the bow arms in second - load a bolt - and hit the knob. GAME ON BABY!
I will be honest though - when I hunt with my normal crossbow, I am locked and loaded from the time I walk into the woods till I walk back to my truck. Probably not the safest thing to do, but there have been too many times where Deer like to show themselves on the way in or on the way out.
Moving around though under full draw tension isn't the safest thing to do. Not with this Sen-X Onyx Tactical Crossbow, I can have the bolt loaded but with no tension on the string and if the opportunity for a shot presents itself I just hit the GAME TIME knob and in 1 second I am fully under draw pressure ready to fire. No more pull strings to mess with and no more hand cranks!
