Just finished making a night setup , first one ever

Hi I wanted to post a picture of What i just finished about 1/2 hour ago , I got The Pulsar N550 nite vision about 1/2 hr ago , I mounted it on my Taipan veteran , I zeroed it 50y with 30 grain slugs and adjusted poi and picked reticle and colors I like , I just set up some targets up for nite time , I decided to target shoot rather then hunt this weekend , as winds are gusting over 30mph and i need to wet my feet with night vision on a calm day , but during day I am hitting 1 inch targets with it at 50 yards , it should with my day optic I hit over 100y a 1 inch target , I was amazed how simple to adjust settings/brightness /clock /reticle and so forth , it looked more intimidating then it actually was he he . here is a pic of my new nite sniper varmint .22 PCP. I cant wait to shoot in darkness , I don't expect to see far yet my IR didnt come in yet so it has a internal one with 3 settings , I will see but I did order a 850 IR ARMSLIGHT and I will mount it on scope rail or under guns pic and lose the Bi-Pod got to see which balances better .it didnt arrive yet , cant wait to shoot in darkness

OK went out 10 min before pitch dark and I could see across pond clear as a bell , I can actually see my pellets hitting 80 yards int water ,then 45 min later in pitch dark here is results

Ok I can not see across pond I cant see apples placed 125 yards not 100 yards , I can see an apple 10 to 25 yards perfect on the units ill settings of 1 , 2 and 3 ,

I think I need the IR-850 to see how it works , The built in IR works at very short range , I really need it to see what it can do , but my first impression at dusk compared to a scope it is awesome , in pitch black up to 25 yards it is fine , but I think we all shoot further , If anyone has a unit with the built in IR how far can you see with out a secondary unit ?

The IR-850 will help a lot, I’ve been looking at getting a night time setup and from what I’ve read 850nm is about as low as you want to go, most will say use at least a 900nm add on light, I have been looking at the Wicked A67ir add on ir light but haven’t decided on what unit to get, 550 is on the list if I want to go that route but so is going with just the Nightsite Wolf.
