Just a quick reminder…

We’re not all perfect and everyone has bad days, everyone!

Many of us tend to think we’re great shots but we all have our off days! This morning I started shooting & everything seemed fine….I would shoot 3-4 shots right on top of each other, but then…One shot high right, then low left, all over the place with no consistency. I couldn’t figure it out so I grabbed a different air gun, no better! I grabbed another air gun & another…The problems persisted! I was getting pissed! Clearly, it wasn’t the air guns, it was me! The truth hurt but there was no way around it, nothing & nobody to blame but myself!

I decided to take a break from shooting, finish my coffee & read a few posts here on AGN. I figured it would do me good to relax & “reset” from shooting so poorly. I was wound up & frustrated!

Just “resetting” for half an hour did me wonders. Here are a couple before and after groups. The “before” groups are all 5-6 shots at 50yds. These were average groups, there were a few better, some worse & a couple that were flat out ugly! I can’t show them because the pellets missed the 3’x4’ target stand!😂 The “after” group is 10 shots, also at 50yds. Still not anywhere as good as I’d like at 50yds but better! For today, I’ll take it!

The point is, we all have off days & often, it’s not the gun’s fault, or the wind, or bad pellets, it’s just bad shooting! Nobody is perfect all the time, far from it! If you’re not shooting up to par, take a break & reset. The more and more we shoot, the more we can overlook the simple things.
Have a great afternoon!

Wow I feel better now knowing that I'm not alone. I just had a couple of shooting days like that last week. I'd start out shooting (off hand) some really nice groups then I would start going down hill. I'd keep telling myself the more I do something the better I should get at it. Then I'd get pissed and of course that would make my shooting even worse.

I know that feeling when you just want to throw that (bleep)ing gun at the target. I usually do what others here suggest. I just take a step back from it for awhile.
