I recently saw these for sale in .22cal and .177cal. I did a search and didn't find too much for info on them. Anyone have real world experience with them? By the looks, I would assume they do not do well at longer distances.
My results with the .177 Ultrashocks were not good in any of roughly 6 rifles I tried them in. Not sufficient for small game at 30 yards anyway. I figured they would be at least as accurate as a good wadcutter so they’d be useful even if expansion ended up being less than impressive. I was wrong Even the choked LW barrel that likes most pellets wouldn’t group them. However I will say the RWS Supermag wadcutters are like an off switch to gray squirrels.
I like them very much, hunting accurate to 50m id say. Used them with the slug liner, smooth twist and lw polygon. They smash whatever they hit id say worth a try.
My son in law has made 75-100 yrds shot at Iguanas with a Htasan 65BT. Have watched pellet impact through binos and they are truly devastating but accurate. make sure your gun has enough power to propel them at decent velocities
