Just a heads up and a caution: Duck hunting (and usually any migratory game bird) with airguns is generally against federal regulations in the USA. Ducks cannot be hunted with rifles, pistols or with lead projectiles. Most airguns fall within multiples of these categories. Stay safe, know the regulations where you are and keep out of trouble!

Waterfowl have to be taken with steel shot by a shotgun. It is a class C felony making a mistake with migratory birds. You may think this is a joke but they can take your gun, vehicle, pay a hefty fine or you can serve time! FYI- mourning/whitewing doves and are considered migratory birds and cannot be taken with an air rifle. In most states they can be taken with lead shot, however, in certain area, like on Federal Wildlife areas, you will have to use steel shot. Eurasion doves can be taken with an air rifle.

Thanks a lot for the information. I’ll be more aware of the laws. I wouldn’t want to violate anymore laws! First and last mistake!!
