JSB EXACT flyers

I don’t do anything to my pellets. I open the tin and start shooting. Mike Schultz and I are good friends. He won the overall at last years 25m Nationals. He does the same as me. I don’t shoot 25m anymore, but both he and I set new 50y unlimited records a couple months ago. Neither of us did anything to our pellets.

That being said, we may try lots of pellets before finding ones that we like. If they throw flyers...we get rid of them or save them to try with different barrels. If we had to sort pellets, we would have no time to practice. Sorting is the biggest time suck you can get drawn into.

At this point in my airgunning career, if I have a flyer, its most assuredly ME. Not saying I dont have a wonky pellet occasionally, but that the guns have been tuned, set up and tested ad nasuem. My Marauder will benefit from some kind of sorting, makes the results much more consistent. OTOH, my Thomas L shoots any “quality” pellet (har even the Crosman 10.5 magnums out of the tin) dead nuts with jut a visual inspection out to 60 yards (limit of my dope for that scope)

Mike has an unnatural advantage in all this...... he builds that rifle he sets records with. He’s built rifles that others have set records with.

“... we may try lots of pellets before finding ones that we like...”. seems to me thats a kind of sorting, and can be just a big a time sink, although Id rather be out testing pellets thru the rifle than sorting them at the table :).
