Anyone have experience shooting the JSB .22 caliber "redesigned" monsters 25.39gr from the FX Impact X?

My experience with the JSB .22 caliber monsters in 25.4 gr. (prior to redesigned) was unsatisfactory. These pellets seem to group well at 40 yards, but were erratic at 50 yards and beyond.

I have tried the Mk II (redesign) and the Jumbo's through my Kral Puncher Breaker in .22.

My experience is similar to yours with the Jumbo's... Good to 40 yards, then can't hit dirt at 45 yards and beyond. The Mk II have shot well to 50 yards, hit have not pushed past there. My gun is crosshairs at 50 yards with my personal choice pellets, the MK II are about 1.5 inches high and a tad bit right at 50 yards, but group well.

I picked up a tin of these a couple weeks ago. They are fantastic!! I was damn near putting every pellet through the same home at 25 yards. They had sightly better accuracy than the JSB Heavy 18.13 or the AA FTH 18g.

This weekend I put them to the test on some squirrels at 70 yards. They were dead on.

For reference, just one of those black squares is 1/4".

I shoot the redesigned pellets at 29.5 FPE. They are the most accurate pellet in my rifle out to 30 yards. They start to open up after that and don't group nearly as well as a few other pellets at 100 yards. I don't know exactly how to explain this. My hypothesis was that the heavier pellets would be affected less by the wind and group even better than other pellets at 100 yards. Unfortunately, lots of data says that is not the case.

It could be that the reason the groups start to open up after 30 or 40 yards is the speed is dropping and the pellet is destabilizing. This pellet will shoot about 70 - 80 fps slower at the muzzle than the 18gr pellets you may be used to. The folks who are getting great accuracy with this pellet are shooting them at 900+ fps at the muzzle. Just a thought.

I suspect you are correct, Chas. I'm even starting to think that the 15.9 grain pellets that I am shooting at 900-915 fps are starting to destabilize a bit as well at 100 yards. I'm thinking this because the 13.42 grain RS are even a bit more accurate than the 15.9 gr at 100 yards. The Redesigned and 15.9 gr are definitely more accurate up to 50 yards. I think the lighter pellet is maintaining stability longer because of the faster velocity.
