Hey guys. Which of these two pellets are best for 50-100 yards accuracy? My gun the Benjamin marauder in .22. which one of these pellets is better for my gun? Or are they both the same. Thanks for any info.
The particular gun has a lot to do with it. The 18 has a better bc and should be better at 100 yds. I have some grey label 18's that my cricket compact .22 love @ 860 for 30 fpe. Pesting @ 100 yd s no problem under right conditions. The 15.9 is right on the 18 heel for accuracy.. Both are winners.
I use the 16's (jsb 15.89's - I just round up) in my Air Arms S510 XS Ultimate Sporter .22. This combination has proven to be lethally accurate out to 75'ish yards on pigeons off of barns. ( little to no wind ) I may try the heavier 18's sometime this coming spring / summer as I'm thinking, and others have alluded to above, that they may be better at the longer distances plus be a little more resistant to (minor) wind. But yeah -- ymmv - best bet is to try and test 'em both.
Each gun is a little different, the only true way to figure out 100% would be to buy a tin of each and test them out. Generally it seems the 18.1gr is more accurate to 100yds, but there are always some outliers! Testing to figure this stuff out is one of the most fun aspects of this hobby, at least to me!
