JSAR Raptor question

When did you guys place orders? I orderd 9/4/19 and have not received a ship date.

Ouch! I hope things start getting a little more streamlined for them. I ordered the first of the this month. Don't get me wrong, i dont want a rushed job. And i expected a little longer. But it says,Taking Pre-Orders, Guns Delivered in 6 weeks from order. I hope 6 weeks isn't just rainbows and sunshine getting blown up my skirt. Or perhaps an update on the website with more realistic wait times. Probably would save fielding phone calls about.....is it done yet?

Does anyone know anymore about the Raptor HP version how much of a difference in power and size is it really ? I've only heard in video I believe that the plenum is titanium and you can operate it at a higher preassure I believe. Is he using the hp version in the videos ?

The plenum is titanium, longer barrel, the larger 500cc tank as standard. Reg with higher operating pressure range, additional hardware included to remove the regulator, and connect plenum direct to tank. Targeting power of 160 fpe. I do not think the video is of HP model.

From the info I have gathered I think the reality is 18 weeks and not 6 like the website markets. Hopefully they will compress that time, but I would not have that expectation. It would only lead to disappointment. :-(

I didn’t find the video impressive, those targets were large and very easy to score hits on.

Yes, I think that video was pointless, a lot of people were expecting to see groups and Rick just said he didn't have the patience to do that 👀 I find that hilarious. Well, it looks like we will need to wait if we want to see the groups. Although some people here already have the Raptor, someone can share some groups and what pellets are the ones they have found they like it better. Randall, can you answer? Do you have a group you can share, even if is a 20 yards :)

JSAR is building these raptors with LW barrels and TJ barrels. LW barrels are very well represented in a lot of brands of airguns. With some research you can find that TJ barrels are very high quality and are very well represented in the airgun community. Travis shoots every gun to ensure no one gets a Dud barrel. As long as the power plant inside the Raptor is consistent at whatever power level you tune to, it’s safe to assume these guns will be lights out.

The Raptors were barely announced in April of this year, it’s awesome that some people have already got them. And he is currently building more right now. I think we can think of a few guns that took longer to come to market after announcement.

I do agree the 6 week wait time on the website needs to be changed.

I got the ,257 TJ barrel, but this was before they had the HP offering. Now there is no regular .257, only the HP one and it's cost is a touch higher than what I paid with my upgrades selected - so I'm not sure how that's going to work out/

From what I have read on past JSAR postings there could be a hold on the adjustable external regulator. I'm not so sure how that's going to work out - are current guns being sent with an unadjustable one? I thought the reg was internal, but now it seems it's between the tank and the gun - would appreciate more detail on this.

The Regulator was never internal.

Current guns go out with a regular ninja regulator. (Very good reg) it is adjustable, just not easily adjustable. You have to degas and mess with Belleville washers and spacers

The JSAR adjustable reg will be crazy easy to adjust with a spammer wrench. The most recent video on YouTube shows him adjusting the reg.

Give Travis a call. He will clear things up for you and your .257 raptor. He always answers when I call and if he doesn’t he calls back. He is the only person that can help you with that question.

The titanium plenum is for the .257-.30 cal versions only, not needed for other 3 calibers. Orion, most of my shooting is my back yard range @ 20yds and it is hole in hole same as my now sold Daystate Regal and Compatto. I have shot it out to 60yds in perfect conditions once and it was a 1/3” clover leaf before it was fully settled in. I hope to shoot it at a friends place in the near future where I can stretch her legs out to 100yds or more. With any PCP that has a great platform and barrel, it is mostly on the shooter to shoot good groups just like your Taipan Veteran...your Veteran hits where it’s pointed! 🤓👍
