JSAR emailed me with a FedEx tracking number a couple days ago. Travis had called me a couple weeks prior to get tune numbers I was looking for. It showed up just before 1pm Pacific time. It was boxed in a Plano case and FedEx was gentle 🤓. It is a very well made custom PCP, built like a light tank. The anodizing and all fasteners are all done immaculately. I ordered a .22 black and red with the red accents where I asked. I also upgraded to a 500cc bottle and a TJ slug barrel (I think Dodge has a Lothar Walther in his?). I mounted a Discovery HD 5-20X50 FFP scopes using Warne high rings as Vortex mediums would not clear the magazine. Travis told me to run a full tin of JSB heavies through her before adjusting anything and then shoot slugs. It took about 10 shots to get close to the bullseye, then POI would shift 2-4 clicks up down side to side for about 40 shots but less and less movement at which time I put her over my ProChrono. FPS was between 950-970 at this point. As I got closer to 60 shots I could tell the regulator and valve began to settle in and shots began to group really well hole in hole if I did my part. The trigger was set very very lightly, a tad lighter than my Regal and similar in how they break, crisply. The biathlon side lever on mine is very smooth. The tensioned barrel shroud is very sturdy. The Tatsu makes this a very back yard friendly shooter. I can’t wait to see what slugs she likes! Kudos to Travis, Jacob and Matt all of whom I spoke with during the build process, they are friendly knowledgeable people who are passionate about the builds they put out. Thank you JSAR! Here are a few pucs.

That's the exact gun I've got in my cart, except for the color. Can't wait to see some 50 and 100 yrd. groups plus shot count. In a perfect world the gun would also shoot pellets good. If the gun shoots lights out for you and you start posting 100 yard moa groups, I'm going to be out 15 to 16 hundred dollars. Good luck, I think.

rjoe, my range is only 20yds but will be taking it pesting at a friends place for ground squirrels and starlings with long shots available...will update after. You will NOT be disappointed in your purchase 🤓👍.

I find it amazing how different today's "purpose built" pcp airguns are, compared to the past decades of conventional airgun "rifle" clones that we learned to love and collect!

These new "shooting machines" may be the wave of the future, but my old eyes still get grabbed by a beautiful piece of well grained walnut on an old fashion airgun, or bullpup!

That being said...the gun displayed is beautiful in it's own regard! A famous architect once said "Form follows function" and these new gun's shape and construction takes that advice to new limits. There's nothing on that gun that lacks a specific purpose! It makes me wonder what they may look like ten years from now???

Hepotter,

I agree completely. I sure do like the traditional rifle look, the finer the bluing and the more figuring in the wood grain the better. These AR style platforms really don't do much for me, from an aesthetic viewpoint. That being said, I have a Raptor on order and the current top airgun in my possession is a MAC1 USFT that essentially looks like somebody stuffed a bunch of pipes in a golf club bag and called it a gun, or maybe an AR and the stuff rolling around in the bed of a plumbers truck had a baby. The USFT wins, hands down over every other airgun I own, for accuracy, ergonomics, repeatability/consistency, sublime trigger, etc.

Your assessment that they are shooting machines is spot on. I'm just hoping that I'm as pleased with the Raptor as I am with my other "ugly" airgun, the USFT.

Hi! All, Saw a video of another fellow that has just received his Raptor in red and black but his has more red anodized parts on it than this one. Is there an option to have it done the way you want at an added cost, as I see nothing about this on the order form? I guess I'm like Franklink and Hepotter as in if I had my choice I would rather it not look like an AR but if I have no choice I want all the bling I can get as I just can't warm up to "Black Rifles" if you know what I mean!! Thank's in advance, J.L.

Hepotter, I hear ya man! I have a Daystate Regal with gorgeous wood on her, tiger stripes! This Raptor is very utilitarian as you said. Same weight as my Regal too which is light. The TJ slug barrel is quite amazing as it shoots pellets just as accurately as slugs.

Franklink, I do not think you will be disappointed!

J.L., you can choose where the anodizing goes as long as it’s where they anodize! They now have an option for a cerakoted OD!

.

Yeah my raptor does indeed have the LW pellet barrel.

Is it accurate?

Yes, very accurate. Now stacking them at 20yds then drove to a site and shot a five at 50yds with 1/3” groups in no wind this morning. That’s just with 70 pellets through her. So yeah, accurate.

Ranchibi, The slug barrel shooting pellets accurately, 5 at 50 in 1/3". Wow. If you are trying to make my day, your going about it just right!! Thanks.
