Looking through their catalog, they've listed all there pcp airguns under a Firearm header, each page.

Is there a reason for this?

I am guessing that in South Africa (like in UK and Canada) airguns at this power level (over FAC limits) are considered firearms.

Nah they're not. We have a caliber limit of 5.56mm before they're regarded as firearms but no power limit. Due to the incompetence of our law enforcement it's virtually impossible to actually license an airgun though, so that's why you'll only see them selling 4.5 and 5.5mm. They have ambitions to change that but who knows if it will be successful.

They do however plan on getting registered as a firearms dealer as well. Being that the majority of the guys behind Patriot are Afrikaans south africans (virtually everyone except Matt Dubber) many of the errors you'll see in their catalogues and websites will be 'English as a second language' type things, but I'm guessing this particular one was just an oversight.
