I've bought another LH 300S

I will try to post pictures but up till now I have not been successful. I am a little more than just computer illiterate. Old, Irish and hardheaded may also play a roll. None the less I am looking forward to this airgun.

Any links you may like to share I would be interest in looking into. I will be researching this model to get to know her intimately, perhaps not the best term to use but you know what I mean.

Cheers guys, Mike

Well my rifle arrived late Friday afternoon, having to go to work there was only a short time to inspect it, put it together and see if it would shoot. There was a problem as it had a catch and didn't want to cock. It would cock but wouldn't always shoot. Saturday when I got up I took it out of the stock and found that the pivot screw for the cocking arm was backed completely out. After removing the sled and tightening the screw it would cock and shoot but still had a little catch and it would shoot. I had already e mailed Jim and he told me if I wasn't satisfied to send it back and that If I took it apart it was mine, ok, no problem. Having removed the sled I figured it was mine regardless so it was taken completely apart. I found a broken a spring. I e mailed Jim a photo of the spring and he refunded enough money to pay about 2/3 the cost of new springs. I wasn't expecting any refund so it's appreciated.

In my first e mail to Jim I expressed my disappointment with the rifle. Not so much the cosmetics although it's pretty rough, in all honesty i didn't expect a safe queen. What I didn't like was the fact it didn't function properly. I felt I paid more than enough for it to be a shooter out of the box, not a project. Yes when I took it apart I knew full well it was mine, no excuses. If it hadn't been LH it would've been sent back.

This not a rant or trying to smear Jim in any way, I was satisfied with what he refunded and have no hard feelings on my end. I do have some advice for anyone buying airguns online regardless who it's from. Ask very specific questions and ask for high resolution photos. A lot can be hidden in small low resolution images.

I have named this rifle "Ugly Betty" lol, and will get some photos when the weather clears, it's been raining here for three days. Hopefully she'll shoot better than she looks.

I caught a little break in the weather and took her outside for a photo shoot.

Ugly in eyes of the beholder I reckon. Looks great in the first picture, has some good wood grain going on. Maybe Ugly Betty will make up for it in the accuracy department.

Cheers

At one time she was a beauty, it's really sad that a peice of fine engineering and craftsmanship can be mistreated. I'll probably refinish the stock over the winter, everything but the gouges on the bottom will sand out. I'm afraid that the barrel sleeve will have to be put in a lathe to clean it up.

Did you get your rifle?

Bdart,

A little make over and she'll be ready for the prom.

I too received my 300, was able to clean her up and run over the crony to see how healthy she was but haven't had a chance to find pellet preference. Have pellets ordered but she was shooting 7 grains at 647-649 consistently. She has nice bluing, the stock isn't anything to right home about - plain Jane, looks to be beech. BUT she's a LEFTY and that's a good thing. If she proves to be accurate I'll be happy.

Cheers
