This is why I always leave my Taipans Veteran with a magazine installed. I also use the magazine as a rough indicator of the chamber's status from last time. If I cock the gun and the magazine rotates, then the chamber is empty. If however, the magazine doesn't move, it's a good chance that I have already loaded it from the last session. This is quite useful if I want to top off the magazine. On the other hand, if I ever leave the gun without the magazine, I make doubly sure that it is not loaded.
