Is This A Good Deal On A Used SCBA 88cuft 4500PSI Tank?????

Thinking you desire a DOT tank, yes, good deal. You, might (?) find a better price on ebay or such but I personally went with r&l when they had a sale like this a while back, I like dealing with known people ( r&l) than strangers off ebay. I paid just over $300.00 with the fill adaptor/hose set up with about 11 years left until it cant be hydro tested again.

On the acecare tanks, IF you are filling it and can live with a "CE" certified tank ( NOT DOT certified ) they are likely safe but no one will fill or inspect it.
Acecare does make DOT certified tanks also but they cost about $200 more when marked that way, and perhaps the DOT makrkings are just another copy ( ? , I dont think so as several U.S. Dealer do/have sell them ..................... .).

For me $300 for a guaranteed no problem set up-tank & fill- was a good deal. Tank arrived in WA State in 4 days.

Yeah I've actually been looking at those on Alibaba since this morning. Here is the one I had my eye on...$323.52 shipped: https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Full-set-9L-scuba-diving-bottles-300bar-4500psi-paintball-air-condor-pcp-gun-carbon-fiber-cylinder/1949720_1000004714505.html?spm=2114.12010615.0.0.7568c334ezQggQ

I did find a couple of places within 15-20 miles that can fill a 4500 psi tank so if I go that route then I guess I would for sure have to get a hydro tested DOT tank. If I went the Alibaba route I would have to get a compressor as well since no reputable shop would fill it even though it's a new tank...correct? Or I can just skip a tank altogether, get one of those China compressors and just fill directly to gun for now.

"Centercut"A very good deal. How much is shipping? You can buy the fill rig on eBay for $55.

For me, Oregon, shipping would be $20. Wondering if that "fill rig" on eBay is of decent quality? I would rather pay a little more for high quality but on the other hand I, like everyone else, am always searching for a good deal. The one that Jimmy (jking) puts together & sells seem to be high end but I'm not familiar enough with such things yet to really know what is quality, what's average and doable or what is flat out junk.

Hi Centrcut. I orderred one of those fill addaptors only with a DIN thead because I liike the large oil filled gauge and the screw in bleed valve. The add for the one I bought says it has a microbore hose but the photo appears to be a wide one. Is yours the small bore type?
I have a DIN 300 fill station like the one Centercut linked from Ebay that came from Aliexpress. It has a 36" microbore hose. I had to replace the gauge as the one that came on it was extremely inaccurate. It was off by 700 psi. Yikes! it got replaced with a small gauge from a U.S. distributor for $10 that reads pressure accurately.

"2D1C"I was looking for a tank carrier and ran across this. Pretty interesting.

I'd want to know how old the tank is already. If it is nearing it's 15 year manufacturing date it is probably going to look fairly beat up as they get tanks from fire departments that don't baby their equipment. If it is a 15 year old tank with a recertification that gives it another 15 years for $400 I'd prefer to buy a new tank from a reputable U.S. vendor than the paltry savings these would provide, especially given their cosmetic condition. The R&L deal looks way better for the money. I have my own compressor and use it with an Acecare 3liter tank. It is easy to carry and gives twice the number of the fills of a guppy sized tank. The total cost for a brand new CE certified tank, fill valve, and fill assembly was less than $200.

You have other options. If you get a hand pump from ebay or amazon you will pay less than $75. Use it while you figure things out. You will be running back and forth to that shop, and they WILL be closed when you need air (Murphy’s)
A booster like the Shoebox F10 can be had for $500 new theese days. Will fill a gun directly in a few minutes.
If you are going anywhere that’s not home, you can use the hand pump or if you get the tank, it will come in handy.
There are also new electric pumps in the market that will fill you on the fly from your car battery or 110.
