Is There Lube In JSB Pellets? .25CAL

Has anyone noticed some kind of lube out of new tins of JSB Kings .25? They look and even feel oily after loading mags and I have never noticed it before. I bought a batch 1.5+years ago and I finally went through stash and I am noticing the new change in pellets I purchased a month ago. I’m not complaining and I haven’t noticed any accuracy problems...just wondering what kind of negative or positive effects of lube.

In the other smaller calibers, there might be traces of an oily substance, that a lot of people mistake for a lube. It is a release agent that is used in the manufacturing process to free the pellet from the swaging mold. Being that we don't know what this agent is, it's a good idea to get rid of it and basically start over. That's what I do.

CJ, I have seen this in a few tins (not .25's). As previously stated, I think that this is from some cleaning of the swage dies. It is NOT common in my experience, but I'm certain that it happens. JSB has stated that they don't lubricate pellets. Your comments about the effect on accuracy are interesting.

I was able to wash a full tin of pellets and shoot about 10 magazines. I dumped the pellets in a plastic container with water/dishsoap and gently swished it around. Afterwards I laid it spread out on paper towels and dried them off with a small desk fan. My accuracy and consistency is back with these JSB's and I no longer have the random fliers I was experiencing with these new batch of oily pellets. Thanks everyone for your help.
