Is there a specific forum for FX products like the Compact Maverick?

What's going on with your Maverick. There is a FX tech account that I saw reply to someone. Too bad we can't tag anyone haha. But I have a Maverick too and have been tinkering off and on with it.

Thanks for the reply! I just wanted to know about some of the "pitfalls" of the Maverick, what I should watch for or be "pro-active" about in maintenance. Also, wanted to get general tuning info, like what "settings" I should start at when going from pellets to, lets say Hybrid slugs. Just don't want to re-invent the wheel. Also, I don't have a chrono yet so.......

Patrick 1 in order to correctly tune your maverick and any other airgun you need to invest in a chrony. It’s a must for fine tuning. And no you don’t need a $200 fx pocket chrony. I have a $75 Caldwell chrony and it works great for my tuning and shooting needs.

Patrick 1 right there with you.....just got into PCP and a Maverick.....Just ordered a Chrony after reading a couple of days......I decided I won't know anything with out one...wish you the best in your new adventure....

No "pitfalls" with my Maverick. Just keep it full of air and shoot.
I always dig in and all some light "gun" oil to all of the rotating (pivot points) and sliding locations. Not only does it make that joint move easier, it also helps keep the metal from galling (metal transfer) after time.
Another thing, is to adjust the trigger to your liking. You'll never get good if you don't like the way that the trigger action is.
That's all I've done to mine. Many folks get carried away with adjustments and loose the baseline, and then have a hard time "liking" their gun. Do yourself a favor, a little oil, a little trigger adjustment, and shoot it. Leave the other adjustments to...others that adjust, more than they shoot..!

There are at least a few guys that are on here regularly that really know the Mavericks. Rallyshark is a huge help with them and he has done quite a bit of tuning and tinkering on his to generate crazy power. I am pretty sure it is going to be impossible to answer your tuning questions without knowing what you intend to do with it, Bench shooting paper or hunting? Shooting mainly short ranges or trying to reach out past 100? If you are planning to shoot mostly 100 and under at paper, you can stick with pellet tunes without doing much of anything but dialing the power wheel.
The chrono would be a must have for any tuning and I would probably have to recommend getting GOOD gauges for it before bothering to do that. The biggest problem with Mavericks is finding pellets. They do seem to like 18.13 grn JSB and from all accounts the 25.39 Redesigns. Safety tip....the 25.39 that is NOT the Redesigned shoots like actual garbage past 30 yards or so.
