Is the Fortitude being Discontinued?

NEW INFO: Y'all may have heard. The Fortitude Gen 2 has come out with a Power adjustment screw to take it from 9 ft pounds up to 21 ft pounds in .22 / 10ft pounds gives you 600 shots! 21 ft pounds 80-90 shots. Also has 35% lighter cocking bolt effort, and a 3.5 pound trigger vs the old 5.5 trigger. -Nate @ Airgun Channel

Original Post: Someone told me they stopped making the Crosman Fortitude. Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks -Nate

my Fortitude

Yeah, I didn't see it coming. Of course, I don't follow PCP's, but if I recall correctly, it's only been a few months since it was rolled out with a big splash. I'm curious how it went sideways.

What (I) think is you can only repackage old stuff so long before the consumer will say, nice but that is not anything new.

Personally I love my Maximus, it is really a go to rifle for me, very easy to hole, does not weigh much, and with the euro version it is like it is on a reg, it just spits out pellets the same speed for ever.

I see them resting on their heals....trying to milk everything they can out of existing platforms. Mrod is getting pretty long in the tooth along with disco. There are other guns out there that are doing the same job, or even a better job for less money.

The only thing they have going for them is word of mouth, and this is slowly going away.

With the new crop of air guns out there why would anyone buy a disco....get a chief, be money ahead and have a better shooter, same with the Mrod.

You can't keep making the same thing year after year and think people are not going to look around and go...hay that is cool.

They are not even making cool new "fun stuff" The new umerex lever guns are huge fun...just flat fun.

I think they are missing the market here.

Crosman has always just tweaked a design, or swap parts around and call it something else. Look at the break barrels, and the custom shop 13xxx/22xxx stuff. That's one of those things I like about crosman, and I think they got that from the automotive industry. Having interchangeable parts over a large range of products keeps pricing down for the consumer. Not to mention the personalizing, customizing ability. An Amarda is just a MRod disguised as an AR variant, but everyone seems accepting of that model.

If it ain't broke, why fix it?

Because people are not buying it?

Hey guys! That was the Purple Rain Edition.

I was inspired by Southern Gunner to add some Bling to my rifle.

I put a Baker trigger in mine and the trigger had already loosened up from 5.5 pounds to 3.5 pounds after shooting about 1000 rounds through the gun...then when I added the Baker trigger I was at a 1.5 pound trigger pull. Super awesome. Too bad I sold it before I got to shoot it.

I figure if they discontinued the Fortitude, it's only because they have something better they are going to replace it with.

They must be selling them, why else would everyone be out of stock?

I havnt got one yet, just because I got a PRod like a week before the fortitude was announced. Couldn't pass the deal on the PRod.

Maybe crosman should take this platform to the custom shop, I would like to see something that looks like a big prod. At least having the option on the web sight to set up a custom pistol carbine or riffle with either disco/maximums or PRod furniture. Crosman has already done this with there pumpers and co2
