Is it necessary to put Breech O Ring in the Barrel of Benjamin Marauder.177

It won't damage the gun, but your accuracy will be gone! You need that O-ring to seal the bolt and breech. Without it your velocity will be all over the place and you won't be able to hit anything. It's a fussy chore to get the O-ring in place, but you can do it! Check your parts diagram for the size, you may find one the right size at a good hardware store. Someone here will likely explain how to do it-I haven't done one myself yet. You might try Googling "replacing Marauder Barrel O-ring" and see what you get.

I don't think the gun would be damaged. I do think it will effect accuracy and make the gun a lot louder.

Try to find a wooden dowel rod and push it in the barrel from the front end. Have it stop at the groove for the o-ring so you wont go past the groove with the o-ring when inserting. Make sure you put some silicon lube on the o-ring. Patience is your friend.

ABSOLUTELY ..... Air volume and pressure that is lost never contributes to launching the pellet. LESS AIR / LESS PRESSURE = Less velocity and greater inconsistency.
