Is it necessary to have +100$ rings? Come on: it is just a pcp

Hi

What are the best yet budget friendly scope rings for FX impact, crown and dreamline?

I didn't find the best yet. Is it necessary to have the 100+$ rings? I know there are different qualities of scope rings but certainly there will be good quality rings with reasonable price.

If it necessary to go to 100+$ ones we will go. But come on, it is just a pcp airgun. It is not AR-15 or AK47

So what are your suggestions for all of us?

You can get good rings for $40 or so. Proper mounting is of more importance=thus the need for proper machined rings which cost more.Again you do Not need to spent anything close to $100 you just need to know the good cost effective rings, remember Rings are forever so it is best to make sure you will be getting ones that are a one time deal....

Depends on why you want the rings. Actually, I think the example of AR15 isn't a great example, because that is what I would put my cheapest rings on, because it would also have my cheapest scope.

For me personally, it isn't about recoil on a PCP. I buy better rings because of the better tolerances to protect my scopes. I like nice scopes, so I like nice rings. With cheaper scopes, I am fine with cheaper rings. I have seen cheap rings damage scopes, albeit cheap scopes, so it is a little bit the rings fault and also the scopes fault. I am not going to spend a lot of money on a nice scope and then cheap out on the rings that I am tightening around them. No reason to mess up the scope and therefore mess up the scopes ability to function. I have also found that cheaper rings mar the scope more often resulting in the dreaded scope rings, then people will pay you less when you resell the scope. I like to try out lots of scopes, and therefore I want them protected as much as possible, so I can also resell them and be confident that I didn't damage the scope.

That being said, I have $40 rings all the way up to $300 rings. You could even think of it like paying for insurance, pay a little to cover yourself just in case.

As you have a lot of rings. Which one you can say it is worth its price?

Well since you did ask for brands, I apologize for not addressing that. I tried the Sportmatch rings in dovetail 34mm, because there aren’t many options there, but luckily you have the pic rail, so those are not necessary. For the cost and being able to choose a pic rail, I would choose something else unless you needed elevation. The Eagles that Yo mentioned seem cool, but they are too tall for most rifles for me, unless you have a cheek rest. I actually really like 1.5” rings in my Impact after I added a cheek rest. I also haven’t tried the FX rings either.

I use the same rings I use on my powder burners, so I choose Badger, Seekins, Vortex PMR, NightForce. Most of them are around $80-100 used. I like most of those most, and they are all extremely well trusted. When some cheaper rings are $60-80 and are not this quality, it makes it easy for me to spend $80-100.

If you have a high performance scope, you may want to match it with a set of well made tight tolerance scope mounts in order to minimize the risk of non concentricity causing stresses on the scope body. The last thing you want is a badly made/unmatched scope mount/ring that causes uneven stress on the scope tube as you tighten the rings, thus affecting performance, or worse, damaging your expensive scope.

Well made scope mounts/rings tighten evenly around the scope’s main tube, hence spreading recoil forces evenly without torquing the scope’s main tube and the mechanics in it.

This last part of this video kind of explains why the tolerance is important:

I use the 75 dollar fx no limits on my pcp's. Honestly it is just for the added moa. You can use any rail or moa increasing rings. I use dog cheap 3 dollar Ali express rings on my pcp's as well. Hardly any kick means the rings stay put even when they are cheap. If you don't need the extra moa and don't mind getting laughed at for having a $2k gun wit 3 dollar rings go for it. They actually work great. Use anything you want actually. Just don't shim those rings to reach out to 250 yards you will bust your scope.
