Is Fx really the most accurate guns on earth?

Just back from the California State FT Championship ..... FX absent but maybe 1 & that I'm not completely sure of either.

I’d say they are very accurate guns but then so are many other brands. The CA State FT was my second FT match, and I shot a .177 FX Crown with an older solid FX ST barrel. Of course I wasn’t in contention, but in no way was it the fault of the gun. Shooting 13.43 gr. JSB RD Monsters at 820 FPS, the below is a typical 6 shot group at 50 yards.

To be fair I dont think FX focuses on FT at all. Thomas, feinwerkbau, anschutz, daystate have that market cornered from what I see. Theres more to air gunning and competition than FT.

How does Thomas or Anschutz do in 100m benchrest competitions?

For what they seem to focus on, larger calibers from .22 up to .35, for shooting longer distances, they are satisfyingly accurate. Had a MK2 Wildcat. Accurate out to 100m from the first day. Crown can shoot 6mm to 8mm groups at 50m and in calm conditions, sub moa at 100m. With both, only ever harmonized them with the HST screw. And they are very consistent with this level of accuracy. No more accurate than my Steyr LG110 5.5mm but no less either, especially the Crown. 


Latest addition, .22 Impact MK2 PP, shot like a shotgun with slugs for the first three weekends and with the first 1000 slugs, mostly H&Ns. They tell me this is to be expected but is still nerve wracking after spending so much money. And then one hair breadth turn on the valve adjuster this last weekend (after hundreds before) the gun goes from shotgun to laser. Shot no less than 20 sub moa groups at 100m after that and seems completely consistent with an ES of 6fps to 8fps average. Immensely satisfying. All three exceeded my expectations for long distance accuracy. 

I wouldn't consider any gun "the most accurate gun on earth". Too many factors involved besides the gun itself. I have shot very tight groups with my Marauders as well as my Slayer and Impact on certain days with certain ammo...On some others days ,not as well.

who make the most accurate gun in the world is like asking how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop...the world may never know

a 300 hundred dollar avenger shot just as good as an fx impact. matter of fact i think the aeac review of the gun purposly through the last shot because he is definatly paid by fx.

There is a massive paradigm shift in the market right now...and the shift is toward using slugs. FX Airguns are the most versatile for slug use in my humble opinion...does it mean it’s the most accurate? At the moment no. We’ve reached the apex for maximizing pellet accuracy, and to get slugs to where pellets are now will take a little time. Not a whole lot though.

Some of the comments here like “my cheap gun shoots as good as my FX” are pretty funny. If you shoot like the gun isn’t going to help you. If the gun has been monkeyed with, or you are shooting cheap Gamo pellets, it isn’t going to be accurate, and hard to differentiate from a $30 Walmart crosman. A tuned FX, shooting quality pellets will outshoot a tuned marauder hands down. I wouldn’t say FX is the best, and nothing on Earth is more accurate, but it is in the top of that list.

I can shoot minute of elephant at 20 yards no matter what gun you give me.

 On any gun you need to hit the barrel lottery...

I think there are a lot of accurate guns. But with the high end ones, they are only as accurate as the shooter shooting them.

when we enter to the high end rifles range, I think that what influences the most is a good configuration of the rifle (HST, REG. PRESSURE, GOOD AMMO, A GOOD SUPPRESSOR) since the brands use very good barrels and very good regulators, these last two contribute a lot to precision but you cannot forget a good quality ammo, a good trigger, a well mounted scope and of course a good shooter
