IOR RECON OR IOR RECON 2 give pros and cons here

Ok I started this to see if anyone had a chance to try out the newest recon 2 which is now on the shelves , for a few months ok from what I learned is this

1 the new recon 2 uses an objective lens from lightworks

2 it is a bit lighter

3, it has a bit more power old one is 4x28 new one is 4.8x30

4 less weight yay

I want a 40mm for the .408 cheytac build

My friends always look at my scopes and say wow why do you need this lol they think I am nuts

but I am not , when I was 8 I shot a 4x 3/4 tube . I went to a 3x9 .1 inch , I went to a 10x

then i went to 30mm and learned mils and didnt do much moa

then I got some 34 and 35 mm and I am like wow I love them

some days I put them on my pcp why ? cause I can and i love to dial my shots and I love precision

now why do I want the ior 40mm , diff reason on such a heavy caliber it will stiffen actin like a piece of angle iron lol plus lets not forget schott glass for those 3000 yard shots

I know Rex and Val , those scopes great for long range , great for spotting bullet trace , great for calling corrections I see some guys using them on PCP guns am happy to see teir one glass used on pcp guns OK Rex is a very good shot , he has areas to shoot those ultra long shots . I use my pcp guns to keep me sharp for same thing , I am a dialer like REX , I never had an oppertunity to try the recon 2 ,while IOR is one of my favorites I wanted some feedback from you guys on it , I know the recon well great optic , I was was wondering about that objective lens from Japan how it works with the SHott glass which is the best glass bar none , I love my glass , Check out Mirage ULR he uses nothing but IOR I have been running IR about 4 to 5 years now , and I have to say it is up there with PM2

Thanks for the link Air Supply! Very little light goes out from the Vlada “medusa” factory

The obvious change is the parallax adjustment moving back, and a bigger and more compact(?) lense/bell. The increased magnification is hardly noticeable. But the gen 2 is lighter, and that is maybe the main reason to recommend that one. If weight does not matter, I actually would go for the gen 1, just because it is better looking in my opinion.

As mentioned before, you can’t go wrong with any of these two jwrabbit.
