FX,

Superior? lets see some comparison between the current STX slug liner and the new improved "Superior" slug liner. Same slug and same tune... Will the average FX'er see the difference? We need to see some results before we shell out another $110 for another liner..... or it is just another $$$$$?

Prove it too me that its something worth considering.

Your die hard alway FX'er

This is what I'm curious about. Is it just another sales gimmick? And now the other liners won't work with the highly anticipated hybrids so now people have to drop even more money to use them?

Glad you brought this question up (and others posted like it here on AGN) The Superior was conceived and created by Fredrik and FX Sweden to improve upon the existing. The tech really shines and was developed for the standard Superior first which absolutely shoots the pellets better in side by side, and the Hybrids side by side. Then the tech and secret sauce was applied to the existing slug liners and the Heavy Superior were born.

Keep in mind that in Sweden there isn't necessarily stock of all the various different manufacturers of slugs to do heavy R&D testing with. So I agree if you already have a Slug A liner that we at FX aren't here trying to say throw that away and pick up a Heavy liner.

But we know what we have done has improved the overall liner, so of course we're going to make the inline change for those in the future that will pick up a Heavy Liner, or those that want to compare.

R&D with these new Heavy Liners (as they start to come in) will commence here at FX USA with Ernest leading the charge. And I'm sure at dealers like Utah Airguns, SPAW etc that are curious so you can have real world information before doing anything.

The only item on the market right now is the .25 standard Superiors, the rest is coming as an inline change as we have moved away from the old way of making STX barrels to this new and improved way.

No sales gimmicks or marketing as I'm sure everyone can see (if that was our angle, we wouldn't have created the forward thinking STX Interchangeable Liner system to begin with, much better to have a new rifle with proprietary barrels that would make old rifles obsolete if our goal was sales rather than the ability to upgrade rifles that are years old for the cost of just the liner).

Besides we have our hands full manufacturing! But can't stop good progress and innovation when it happens. We just roll it out to provide the best shooting experience we possibly can.

Hope that helps clear up things a bit. Definitely more information to come as we get more testing on all the Superior Liners. Appreciate this forum and all the good customers (and you die hard FX'ers).

Hi Jonathan, can you expand on the "new process" of making the superior barrels without giving away any trade secrets?

Is it different to the machine in the video below then? (SKIP TO 3 minutes in approx).

I can confirm the barrels are made differently now than this video... but that's mainly as this is an old video showing Fredrik making an original smooth twist barrel.

Jonathan (great name, BTW :)

Rather than hit you with another question, I thought it was time for a compliment and thank you.

As a relatively new FX Crown owner and really new Forum member, I wanted to say how thrilled I am with the Crown. It's truly an engineering and esthetic work of art! The second I opened the case I was blown away. Truly beautiful! Naturally, that wouldn't be worth much if it didn't shoot as well as it does. The many glowing reviews and tests I looked at prior to buying it were spot on. Unbelievably accurate and consistent!

Lastly, thanks for being so accessible for comments and questions. I don't remember being able to do this with any other product or service I've ever used. Much appreciated!

Thanks Jonathan, hopefully the Superior liners will make the slug shooting adventure a more enjoyable/simpler process (finding that one or two slugs that shoot well). Maybe they will like a wider range of slugs.

How do the JSB 34gr heavies shoot out of the new liner?

jking

They shoot really really well. Both Ernest and I saw a huge difference in shooting the King Heavy MKIIs from the new Superior STX over the standard.

Thanks for the very gracious compliment. Appreciate being here for you guys and everyone who supports FX.

Will that be possible for me to order and buy the barrel with the liner i wish (superior for heavy slugs) or will I have to buy the barrel coming with your superior liner for Hybrid slugs and pellets ?

The barrels and rifles ship with just the standard STX (and at some point in the coming months Superior STX once the transition takes place). It's just too much of a logistical problem to tailor it more than that. This really places a problem on the retailers. Already we offer so many different barrel sizes and options to help the shooter tailor their experience. But it's not necessarily easy for dealers to handle all the different configurations and item numbers. Especially as the sport grows. Probably over explaining this but we have to strike a balance, and with the liners costing so little (in comparison to the rifle), we have to stop at that point of customizing at the moment.

Hi Jonathan

To end my headache ..... with the configuration that I have in my weapon or I can get and having enough regulation margin: Dreamline tac aluminum bottle cal .25

with double plenum, new Huma transfer, needle filed and with speeds with King Heavy MKII 34gr, regulator at 110bar and 267ms (876fps) or 150bar and 305ms (1000fps)

What liner would have to buy for the Hybrids and King Heavy MKII to work perfectly ........ The superior standard or superior heavy. ???

B, regards

Diaz, the Standard Superior is supposed to shoot Hybrids and the MKII Heavies very well.

Thanks for your help but the assumptions are not enough for me. I have spent money to power my gun and now buy a new liner ....... As an FX client (I have several FX) I want confirmation from FX-USA that I am not going to throw the money away ... ..I think I ask for something reasonable ??

Diaz, I'd shoot what you've got and give them a little time for some field testing. Then you can rest easier knowing "I am not going to throw the money away ..."

I couldn't stand the temptation so ordered one and a few slugs from my favorite dealer in Florida. FX USA, have ya'll tried enough NSA's to recommend a couple for the Standard Superdooper?

Jking

We've heard the 29gr Nielsen's work great out of the Standard Superdooper 😄 - Heavier than that and it looks like it'll need the different twist rate found in the Heavy Superior
