Hello I'm MikeC.I come from Carlisle which is in the north of the UK, Cumbria.I have lurked in the background for about a year, reading all the posts, the good the bad,the informative, the tips.I have found the this forum so interesting and full of know how,i now look forward every evening putting the PC on, getting on the Web and reading all the latest posts. Why i have chosen to join is,at the grand old age of sixty ,i retired several months ago.this was due to arthritic knees.I was a maintaince electrician at a very well known (here in the UK) biscuit factory.Have always enjoyed the outdoor life, mostly shooting and fishing.I did a lot of shooting when i was younger, with air rifles(target, still got my FWB 600,and pest control) and want to get back into the sport.I have organized 2 local "permissions" where i can shoot small game, mostly rabbits and in return try and control the vermin(rats, crows, pigeons, grey squirrels) around the farm buildings.I hope with the knowledge i get from you guys i can put a short list of maybe 3 airifles(cost ,caliber,UK power, etc)so i can buy the right thing as wasting money will now become important.Don't know which area this should go so hope "Admin"can help me out.

Welcome!

You might look at the AirArms/CZs200 -it's a great little gun and does well at 12 FPE. It's a very simple platform with an accurate barrel, and light for carrying about. There are aftermarket magazine systems available for it as well as moderators. It has a small air reservoir and operates at 2600 psi/190 bar so it is hand pump friendly as well. Any of the Weirauch spring-piston rifles like the HW30s, HW50s, or HW95 would be another excellent choice.
