Interesting Custom Walnut FWB 124

I agree with everything you said. It actually never crossed my mind that a customer might have sent back a 124 to Beeman to have it worked on in the custom shop. That would certainly explain the clipped sling swivel.

It seems reasonable to conclude with all the similarities that it came from the custom shop.

I’ll see if I can dig up a catalog.

Catalog 10 Fall of 1982 and catalog 11 Fall 1983 might shed some light. It appears that stocks could be purchased unfinished, along with the butt pad and trigger guard.

Beautiful stocks!

That was a popular custom sporting rifle stock shape in the 80's. Sleek. The comb isn't very high. For a 40mm Objective max. IF that. I like the sleek low scope look. Blocky aluminum rings would be wrong. An older polished steel Burris .22RF set would be nice.++. Vintage Warne steel maybe? Not a fan of blue trim on my scope. Sorry. Hakko sold the short scope without the blue stuff in Europe. I don't think they were readily available here. ***Guess what boys? Looky there! Their are several Hakko short scope models available on eBag right now! Don't trip over each other! They've been listed for a while. No blue goo on them!*** Whole bunch of different Hakko's listed

I tried to order a Custom Milled Trigger guard back then. Was never in stock. Never received one. Milled from the FINEST STEEL. "Finest steel" means regular cold rolled.

Those were the days! Shelly's sporting goods was the local Beeman dealer. New Cumberland, PA. 15 minutes from me. I also ordered a Beeman Mako. They never sent one. LOL! So I bought a Walnut Daystate LR90 from Maccari instead. Same gun..

Sometimes I say too much. Have a blessed day
