Intenseaty22’S Walther LGV Master Pro .177

This here actually surprised me, I took 3 shots into this 2x8 the day I changed the spring to the Vortek 12fpe at short range, 2 feet or so. I picked the block up today and I looked behind it, all three shots made it all the way through 2 inches of pine and stopped just before exiting with one of them showing through. So, yeah, plenty of power with a 12fpe gun. So it was not a surprise a few minutes ago when a 10 grain JSB pellet smacked with laser accuracy with a satisfying THUD into the skull of a rodent right at the base of the ear at 20 yards away, making its way out the other side.

Got a new batch of pellets, did a little shooting today. Pretty happy and somewhat surprised with these results. For starters let me say that I was having a lot of inconsistencies with these pellets. Sometimes I was right on, I mean dead center, then a “Flyer” .

Tried somethig a little different. I actually held the gun with both hands. Gripping the front end of the stock with my left hand (as in NO artillery hold) Results below:

Thanks to everyone on this thread for the Vortek suggestion! I had a Tx200 SHO kit lying about ready to go into a new TX200, but put it into my LGV Master instead. I had a cut down HW97 factory spring with a popbottle liner before. However, I was getting a big swing in fps with temperature changes - 45+fps when the temp went down to the 30s in my last FT match. This changed my POI, so the long targets suffered. I suspect it was the rubbing of the liner on the spring and changes due to temp.

I put in a ARH 12 non-FAC kit and only got about 10 fpe. I put the Vortek TX200 kit in and two plastic spacer washers in this weekend and whola - 13.8 fpe with JSB 10.4s - 774 fps with 2% variance over 88 shots. I shot both in 50 degree weather, then 38 degree (with the gun sitting overnight in the cold garage) - very little variance! Even with the higher fpe, very low recoil or jump. Here are my 10-shot groups at 45 yards with bucket and sticks, no sorting on pellets. There are some shooter errors/pulls, but I am very happy. Nice smooth shot now. I did notice that when I changed batches of the JSB 10.4's there was some issues with looser fit and poorer accuracy/lower fps. I will have to experiment more on this. Thank you for the great suggestion!

Dan

Inspired by Centercut's KC Mini Carbine's Carbon Fiber barrel mod, I decided to sleeve my LGV since the size seemed to be perfect for it. I cut it just slightly larger than perfect and sanded it down a bit. It is not technically free floating, but it doesn't have to be. However, it is not glued onto the barrel, there is hardly any spacing between the barrel and the tubing.

You will also notice that I changed the DonnyFL Koi, for a Tanto. I personally like the look of the Tanto on this gun a little better. There is no discernible difference between the two moderators on this gun.
