Intenseaty22’S Walther LGV Master Pro .177

So, check this out. I ordered the trigger and the rifle the same day. Rifle gets here (Georgia USA) from Krale in 4 to 5 days. The trigger is still on it’s way from UK. Just left NY about 2 days ago. Has not made it to GA yet!

I bought it because I read so much how bad the stock trigger was, but to be honest, I really think it looks pretty sharp.

I ordered the 12fpe Vortek today. Decided to give that a go instead. When it’s all here, will go for it. Also giving heavy thought to remove the front weight, and replace it with a DonnyFL Koi with tapered cone. It’s only one inch longer than the Sumo, but thinner. May look better.

Hey Mike, I am winging this. I ordered both the SHO and the 12FPE HW77/97 kits. I may return the SHO if I am happy with what I get. Ag5643 may be able to tell you better than me. As well as the article that Crutch posted earlier. I have never taken a springer apart, this will be my first. If you want, hang tight and see what happens with mine. I can always ship you the my Vortek at cost, if you want the SHO. I'm gonna return it anyway if it works out. Or you can order the 12 after I do mine. Ag put his stock 12 spring from his LGV into his FAC LGU and is working out good for him.

Below is a list of parts I used to make my spring clamp and slave pins I used to drop a Vortek kit in my RWS 34p. I YouTubed several videos plus using the Vortek directions. I’m a rookie at this.

I attached scraps of plywood to the clamp that I counter sunk the screw head, a piece of a large wooden rod to position where on the action the pressure of the clamp was applied and a removable zip tie to keep the barrel from moving. I cut 3/16” slave pins from a metal rod to keep everything alined in the trigger assembly until the original shear pins can be replaced during reassembly.

FYI, it doesn’t take much clamp travel to take the pressure off the shear pins, but it does take a lot of clamp travel to take the pressure off the spring

good luck!

this is the vortek kit I installed in my LGV. Soon to install one in my LGU. If anyone needs me to, I would be more than happy to open my rifle up and give you a step by step with pictures. It is very easy, but you will have to modify your spring guide.

Nice spring compressor! Intenseaty you are correct. No need to use one for you LGV. It is very simple to disassemble. You will need to keep pressure on it though when removing the internals like every other springer though. It just does not require a compressor.

I had had thought about doing the “yankee” trigger tune on my Walthers but decided I much prefer the look of the Rowan trigger more than the stock plastic one. I’ll be installing the Rowan’s eventually. I have fired both of my rifles at varying foot pounds, and have decided that 10.5 shoots and feels the best (to me). This may give you all a start point for your tunes.

For the muzzle weights: bear in mind if you plan on removing the entire portion, not just the bit at the end, besides the small grub screw, there is a significant amount of glue holding it in place as well. A torch will be needed to remove if you choose to go that route. Me, I left it on and just unscrew the cap piece. At the energy level I shoot, the rifle is relatively quiet without an LDC. There are occasions where a shorter rifle is preferred. I like having that flexibility. Keep in mind in regards to the LDC and muzzle weight, I’m only talking about the LGV. The manner in which the muzzle weight is installed on the LGU is identical, however mechanically, they differ for obvious reasons.

Feel free to to reach out at anytime. If I can help anyone out I will try my best to do so.

Thanks for all your help and advice Ag, I sure will reach out if I get stuck. I bookmarked Hector's blog on the spring install, he has pictures and all already on there. Thinking this is the write up you were referring to previously? I'm still waiting on the trigger. The front weight came off with just a little twisting of it, no heat needed on mine, just a little muscle. I thought about it, and figured I can always use the Koi for another gun if decide against it. Since I do 99% of my shooting in my backyard, the quieter the better.

Shot a little today with the Hawke installed, but was inconclusive due to very windy conditions. Although a couple times, it hit dead zero. Will post as I can.

Intenseaty I was thinking about getting a sub 12 lb tuning kit for my LGV but at the moment she’s shooting very well with the 23 joule spring. Straight out of the safe after nearly two weeks, 30 metres, first five shots bottom right then one shot at the other targets. You gotta love a Walther. Hope my new 77 shoots this well for me. Look foward to seeing your 30.

I’m actually shooting from the shed at the side front of the house. Its been raining here the last couple of days and i shoot from here some times to stay out of the wind and wet. We live on acreage and I’m lucky enough to have a couple of ranges from ten metres in the shed to 100 metres outside. Can’t go past the 100 mark, too many trees and hills.
