Intenseaty22’S Walther LGV Master Pro .177

So after a lot of bugging folk (big shout out to Ag5643) and research done, I took the plunge and bought an LGV. This is the High Power model. Frankly, I wanted the 12FPE model, but they sold out of them, so here we are.

As customary for me, I will update this post as I shoot it, test different pellets, and or do any mods. Right now it’s being shot in stock form, except for the addition of a Sumo. I have a Vortek kit waiting to be installed, and waiting on a Rowan trigger to arrive.

All testing will be done at 30 yards. I don’t shoot any further, it’s all I have at home for now.

Last pic is of my 11 Y/O 1st time on this gun (cocked it himself) perfect hit on 1” spinners x 3.

"davemac18"great looking rifle, I always enjoy seeing groups posted keep them coming. Is it a quite gun with that silencer on it?? my hw 98 is just a slight but on the loud side IMO
how is the trigger compared to the rekord?
any chrony numbers??
Thanks. The first 2 groups where shot with the Sumo on. The latter not, I just compensated for the shot placement without it. What you see in the picture is not a silencer, it’s just a weight/adornment/grip. But the end is threaded.

I can not compare to much, my last springer was a Gamo, and don’t remember much of it. This one is loud, to me, but not the report, just the spring. The trigger seems a little mushy at first, then sort of does ok, but I read enough reviews complaining of it to go ahead and order a Rowan Trigger.

"Ag5643"Sweet rifle and great groups!

Pumping myself up to do that Vortek install. Maybe in a week or so. Was hoping to have the trigger by now. Seems as though it should have been here by now. May need to contact them.

My family will be attending a wedding next weekend in Jax, but I work. Been trying to do all I can to get off and go with, don't think it will happen, but if it does, I will give you a heads up.

"MScottLeeman"If You don't mind, what Vortek kit did You order? I have an LGU and I think they may be the same. Mine isn't the 12 ft/lb version, btw. Mind You,its shoots very nice, but I just wondered whats out there for later on down the road. Thank You!
Mike.
What he said. I was interested in tuning it down to sub 12, but decided on the full power spring as: Ag5643 had told me that’s what was the experience on the LGU and I believe the power plant is the same, so ; and I looked around as much as I could and found nothing to tell me it could be done. I’m hoping that it will be as close to 12 as possible. As it is, it’s shooting just over 13 now.

OK. Break in rain, shooting time:

Blue circle JSB Exact Premium Diabolo 8.44 these are +/- 0.001gr (according to JSB) I think they did better on previous test. Oh well. x 3 @ 30

Yellow circle JSB Exact Express Diabolo 7.87 x 5@30

Red circle repeat test of the CPHPs. x3@30.
Nothing tickles me more than these being the preferred pellets of any gun. Easy to get & dirt cheap.

I shaped the screw point to to a round convex point using the Dremel accessory and polished the point with 600 grit emory cloth. My son had a R.C fuel line I used for a washer. The mode was easy and effective.

Intenseaty,

I do the same thing jumping in with both feet.

I’ve only shot the rifle out the window into the backyard a few times, but I think that it’s close to my RAW trigger now. I want to do a few drop tests to make sure it’s safe and not to good...

I was just lucky that I found the post about the ‘Yankee’ tune. I had thought that I would have to get a Rowan trigger.
