intenseaty22's G.A. Cricket Mini Carbine .

This is my new Georgia Airguns Cricket Mini Carbine. Got it a week or so ago, have not been able to shoot it much or put it through it's paces yet. I intend to update this post and or edit it as warranted. Stand by for updates as they come along.

Here we see the gun as we are making adjustments to it to make sure that it is right for my shooting style.

Here we see Charlie doing his thing at his shop, really sweet shop too BTW.

This is my set up at home. Culling pellets and measuring speed and accuracy.

This last picture is of what I did with the Lever. It is rather sharp around the edges being a square design. I never shot it enough to be uncomfortable, but could tell it would, as well as read on the forum of others having this issue. My answer was Plati-Dip. It works well. Took the edge right off. Can be Dipped/Coated to give the thickness and comfort desired. I gave mine 2 coats, may give it another. Not sure.

OK, I don't have a lot of intensive Data to give ya'lls (ala Tominco or Mick-VA) but I will give you what I have and will update as I said previously.

This thing is accurate as all get out. It shoots the JSBs 15s and 18s with almost 0 POI change. It shoots the JSB 14s just as well, what blew me out of the water was the Crosman Premire Hollow Points (CPHPs) These things are printing a single 1/2 inch hole or less at 30 yards. Now I know a lot of folk look for 50 yards as the benchmark for shooting, but that is just not real life for me. I shoot targets at 30 yards because that is the distance I hunt at. One day I may shoot further, I will update then.

"Hynzie"Charlie is a nice guy,you get a great product from him ,,, ,i always have fun talking with him , and the way he tunes those rifles is awesome ,,i wish that model came in 25 cal,but o well ,i will be purchasing one of those little beautys soon i hope....please keep the pics and updates coming we;ll be watching for them pat

He definitely is a very nice guy. We are both from Miami area as I learned from him. I ultimately chose to do business with him after reading some of your guys reviews and the fact that I can actually drive to his shop in a relatively short time. He was really nice to my 10 year old too, treated him like a father would, teaching him and empowering him during our visit there.

As for the caliber. I personally do not need anything above a .22 right now. Actually .22 may be a bit of overkill for what I do. I feel that with the quality and accuracy of this setup, I can take down almost anything I need. If and or when I get to the level of .25 or higher, I will see what is available from G.A. at that time. Mainly time and family life do not permit me to go into the field a whole lot, so I shoot at home. Usually at 30 yards or less. Try to keep my home and garden free of pests like chipmunks, squirrels, rabbit, and mice/rats.

"jps2486"Why oh why didn't Kalibrgun come out with this configuration first, instead of the bullpup?

Good question. I recon that like any company or person for that matter we learn and grow and evolve as we go along. To each their own I suppose as well. I will tell you I had a hard time deciding which one I liked better. The BP is really sweet as well, it is shorter and has the magazine wells. Really hard to decide what is more important to me. In the end, the Mini was a bit more evolved. had really good ergonomics, had a fully floated barrel, and just felt really good to hold. They have the Capybara that should be out soon too, that thing looks really good (may be a semi-auto) I may look into one of those in .177 if they release one (right now only projected to be available in .22)

"sniperlabyo"Talking about an over kill, customer sending me one to mod to a.30 cal with 9 shot mag, hoping to get 800+fps with 44g around 18-20 shots, will post actual test results.

Look forward to your results. Right now for me anything that needs to be taken down by a .30 will be at the wrong end of my Browning 308 X-Bolt. (if I ever get the luxury of time to actually do that kind of thing these days....Sigh.....)

Well Ernest - that is a rather unusual and challenging request for this platform. I would have assumed a strong .25 tune would have been the upper limits of the platform's components. Sounds like he is looking for a short range pig gun in .30? Let us know how that little monster turns out.

OK, so having a small window for shooting today, I'm culling some already owned pellets. All shots out to 30 yards.

Gamo (yes Gamo) .22 Red Fire 14.5 Grains are going into a single hole straight into the center of my crosshairs without having made any adjustments.

AOA HS 16 Grains are all over the place. These things were given to me free with my last AOA purchase. They have never shot accurately out of any gun I have tried them on. They may make for a good paperweight though.

RWS Hobby 11.9 grains. Yeah, I knew they would fly too hot, but I wanted to see what they would do. As expected, even though I did not crony anything today, you could hear them zipping through the air. Not great accuracy either, but not horrible. Did not bother to measure.

RWS Superpoint Extra 14.5 grain. These pellets look like they would be great for hunting where penetration is needed. They are all lead, but really pointy. But alas, they suck! These must be about the worse pellets I have shot in any gun. Also, as I said before, don't ever buy pellets from Amazon. A lot of bent skirts. I only shot those that looked fairly ok. But still....Bad.

H&N Field Target Trophy 14.66 grain. These are grouping really well. Right about 1/2 inch or so. I feel like they could do better, but will probably require playing around with the spring/power knob. I will do further testing with these at a later date.

H&N Hornet 16 grain. I love these pellets, mainly because they look wicked. I mean, those things look like they could penetrate into a war tank. So, how did they do today in the Mini? pretty much a single hole to maybe 1/2 inch with no change in POI from current zero on scope. They are hitting dead center at crosshairs.

JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grain. This was an old tin of bad skirts I got from, you guessed it, Amazon. Well, these shot with barely any change in POI as lighter pellets. They pretty much tore a single 1/4 inch hole at 30 yards. Bad skirts and all.

and finally for today. The Crosman Premier Hollow Points 14.3. These are shooting between 1/2 to 3/4 inch group at 30 yards with a small change in POI. I actually have it committed to memory so that they always hit true. These are actually one of my favorites to shoot out of this gun b/c they are Dog Gone cheap and accessible (as in run to Dicks and get you 500/$6.50) I have chronied these before and are shooting at 890FPS with current gun settings. As I have mentioned before, I am not a Target shooter. I pest and or hunt, and plink a little to teach my kids. The CPHPs hit the mark with this gun every time a this distance. I have taken care of 3-4 Chipmunks so far and this has been the ammo used, all of them have been head shots perfectly placed, except for that one that got away, and I think that was me.

Hopefully I can keep shooting tomorrow and will edit on this post. Will write up a different post on this thread when I do more in depth shooting with the ones I found to shoot well.

"Mick-VA"Red fire? Now that's a head scratcher. Never owned any? They kinda look like a gamo version Polymags??

barracuda hunter extreme is a good hunting pellet that works in the mini

Yeah Mick, just like the Polimags, maybe like Polys short (I don't own any) but they fit in the Magazine pretty well. If you push them too deep, the tip will protrude a little, but the mag will still turn. At this point I see them as a viable option and will test further down the line then report back here. I am editing that post to include other pellets I just tested as well.

I do not own any Barracuda Hunters. Will definitely have to pick some up.

08/16/17 Crosman Premier Hollow Point 14.3gr at 30 Yards. Wind less than 5mph, off bipod and bag.

30 Yard, 10 shot group, 3/4 inch. If you count out that A'hole by the one, it's a 1/2" group. Not bad for CPHPs.

Same as above. Pretty consistent at 3/4" with a main group inside of 1/2 inch or so.

Shot 2 strings of 10. Find data below.
