It finally came!!! The wait felt forever (9days from UA) but boy was it worth it!!
A little background is needed for some context:
I have owned for the past 3years an FX Royale 500 (.25) with a synthetic stock and for the past 18months a Daystate Airwolf MCT (.22) with a gorgeous walnut stock.
Ergonomics:
Compared to both guns, the Crown in its blue laminate stock feels slimmer and MUCH lighter. I think FX really improved the ergonomics from the Royale 500. That being said, while the blue laminate is simply beautiful and fits very well in the shoulder, the walnut of the Airwolf feels higher quality in the hands (maybe I’m bias towards a nice piece of walnut).
Adjustability:
The gun came to me from UA set with the reg at 150bar and the hammer spring set to max. I have followed Harry’s advice and just shot the gun for now. I will tinker with adjustments later. I only have about 100 shots through the gun.
Trigger:
A wash here—both the Royale and the Airwolf MCT have WONDERFUL triggers and the Crown competes right up there with the best of them.
Shooting Cycle:
The gun definitely needs to break in. The cocking arm is definitely a little tougher to pull compared to the Royale but it can still be done with one or two fingers. The gun shakes a bit more compared to my other guns when fired but I suspect that is due to its lighter weight and obviously higher caliber.
Shot Count:
45-50 shots at 77fpe 44.75 gr jsb at 860-870fps) is good enough for me. The Crown in .30 definitely gulps more air than my other two guns but that is to be expected.
Sound Report:
As Ted famously says in his FX Impact review: With the shroud collapsed it barks a bit but with the shroud extended it shuts right up. The impact of the 44gr pellet impacting my bullet box is louder than the report of the gun. The gun in my opinion is backyard friendly, as long as your neighbors don’t mind the sound of the pellet smacking the metal bullet box

The gun is quite simply my most accurate gun. As Harry has mentioned on this forum before, you must have great trigger control and follow through. If I do my part I get sub half inch groups at 50yards all day long. I haven’t shot out past 50yards yet but when I do I will update along with pictures. Note: Haven’t cleaned the barrel yet... having too much fun shooting!!
Overall Quality: Well done FX... very impressed! As someone who was very concerned when the Impact came out with so many QC issues, this Crown has laid all those fears to rest. Will update with more as i shoot more... I will also upload pics at some point.
