I came across this laser target system that uses your cellphone camera, a red laser pointer, a free app, and free printable targets. Use it to practice indoor or outdoor shooting skills without using air or pellets and in inclement weather. It's free for me, because I already have a $15 red laser and operate with a remote momentary thumb-button.
Mount the red laser on a pistol or rifle, etc. Secure the cell phone standing up 1 feet away from the paper target and setup the target picture in the app. Line up the laser red dot with the scope's cross-hair. Simulate pulling the trigger by pushing the momentary push-button which turns on (flashes once) the laser for a half a second or so. The cellphone's camera detects the red dot on the paper target and the free app places a shot on the screen and keeps score.
This is a commercial product meant to be used with specially made laser equipped firearm bullets (similar to a bullet-shaped bore-sighter) , but works well this way also. Should work as long as the red laser dot is detectable by the camera on the paper. Distances depend on your laser's and the sun's intensity outdoors, but over 25, 50 and even over 100 meters are possible. Having the target in the shade or covered from strong light extends the distances. What the website says: at night it can range hundreds of meters as long as your red dot diameter size is small enough at those distances.

They also have a "quick-draw" app, but I think that costs extra.
NOTE:The laser beam is a straight line, so up to around 50 meters it's fair to simulate that there is no bullet drop if you zeroed your scope to 50 yards,. Past 50 yards, the laser and scope will still line up for bulls-eye, but in real world the pellet would hit lower and lower as the distance increases.
